CFP Scenario Village

Uh, the current format leaves no room for giving the trophy to anyone other than whoever wins the championship game. It is a unified champion.

It can be watercooler talk for weeks/years to come on who should have been, but it's not going to change who will be.

Georgia was supposed to push Georgia Tech's shit in. Just like Bama was going to push Texas's shit in or Auburn's shit in or South Florida or Arkansas.

With NIL -- it isn't just the SEC and then everyone else anymore. Guys who were locks to sign with an SEC team are going to the highest bidder elsewhere now and it is spread out more. Granted -- Michigan hasn't figured that part of recruiting out yet, but it'd be great if they did, as we have plenty of alum with really deep pockets.

It would only be unified if every conference champ was in the playoff. I guarantee the undefeated ACC champ doesn't agree with the format.

Also -- if they go on to beat Georgia -- who'd have a better resume? They would have beat Georgia, beat LSU, beat Clemson, beat Louisville. Won their division, won their conference championship and went undefeated. If Michigan and Washington lose -- no other team could say that.

The history books will recognize the winner of the CFP. I suppose Florida State could hang some fake banner a la UCF.

Can the AP still vote someone else? This could be possible but Florida State would have to beat Georgia at full strength and Georgias stars aren't gonna play

The AP can vote for whoever they want...but they wont

I could see it maybe happening if Texas or Bama were to win it all and FSU beats Georgia at full strength. Especially if the back up QB balled out.

Heck, in that scenario I might even encourage it
