CFP Top 25 Part 3 Discussion

The other thing that jumps out at me is the fact that Utah is supposed to give Oregon a fight in the upcoming game, and the Utes could do this, but UTSA is ranked above Utah...

There’s probably a lot of unranked teams that are better than UTSA as well. That doesn’t jump out to me at all.

UTSA is ranked because people respect undefeated, even with a very easy schedule
 
I say this as someone who had an Alabama elephant in my bassinet as a baby...Not only is this the worst Alabama team in the CFP Era, but there is absolutely, positively no way that a 2 loss Alabama makes the CFP this year. Those guys are just flapping their gums. They shouldn't even be in the top 5 right now IMO.

Wonder why they didn’t respect UTSA being undefeated in the first CFP rankings.

Playing @Utah in November is tough.

Hard to know without seeing the combined win/loss records of teams that other 1 loss P5 teams have beaten.

Michigan at #6 and Michigan State at #7 determined that that’s a lie
 
SEC: Georgia and Alabama decide their own fate.
B1G: Michigan State and ohio state decide their fate. Michigan needs to win out and have ohio state beat MSU
PAC10: Oregon decides it own fate
Big12: Oklahoma State has a shot ... they must win out convincingly to be considered.
Cincinnati must win out convincingly.
Notre Dame: A fallback position if more upsets happen (B1G East loses in the B1GChampionship Game) or Oregon loses.
ACC: All teams will be allowed to watch the CFP.

My prediction for a 4 team CFP.

1. Georgia
2. Oregon
3. ohio state
4. Cincinnati

My Wishes

1. Alabama
2. Michigan
3. Oregon
4. Cincinnati.

I do not think that resume means what you think it means.


I mean, Oregon opponent beaten win/loss record is 43-47, Ohio State's win/loss record of teams beaten is 39-51, Cincinnati's is 40-60.

It appears you made the exact opposite of the point you were trying to make.

ohio state's last two opponents are 18-2. Oregon over ohio state based on head to head (if their records are the same).

Great....IF they win those games it will bring them up to 57-55. Which will be about the same as Alabama if they win their next two...
