Time for some honesty boys and girls.

Has anyone changed their favorite team over the years? Anyone grow up loving the Celtics, and then was full on MJ and the Bulls, or to move to Golden State and now considering the Lakers for your new fan gear?

Curious if anyone has and a brief story as to why the change was made.

I did it.

I grew up in Atlanta, but grew up a White Sox fan after meeting Frank Thomas his 2nd year in the pros down in Sarasota, FL (where they used to do Spring Training). I followed them for decades, including their amazing World Series run, but as I have gotten older, I watch and feel more connected to the Braves for obvious reasons. I still like the Chi Sox, but if I could watch anybody, it'd be the Atlanta Braves all day.

That's it for me.

You guys/girls have any stories you are willing to share?

I've never been a fan of the other team.

I don't judge anyone who does.

Pro sports fans are trashy.

I used to be a Bulls fan, but now I'm not a fan of any NBA team, really.

I did like the Panthers (NHL) growing up, mainly because my older cousin liked them. Obvi a CBJ fan now.

Have never wavered with my favorite teams. Did have a bit of an issue when the browns went MIA in the 90's.

Closest I've been to being a fan of other teams is the LeBron Cavs and the Reds.

My second favorite team changes every week OP. This week it’s Mizzou.

Not with my favorites. I used to root for other teams in other conferences or divisions, but not when playing my team.

I used to be a Rams fan. Became a Rams fan when I was 8. Stayed a Rams fan as they kept falling short of the Super Bowl because they never could get past the Cowboys, Vikings. Stayed a Rams fan when they finally made the Super Bowl and lost to the Steelers. Stayed a Rams fan when they went back to falling short of the Super Bowl because they wouldn't spend what they needed to get what they needed to get past the 49ers. Stayed a Rams fan while that snake eating bitch intentionally ruined the team so that she could use "lack of support" as an excuse to move them to St. Louis. Once they left, I was done.

The Seahawks were already my 2nd favorite because I really liked the Zorn/Largent teams and they hired Chuck Knox who was my all time favorite Rams coach...so the transition was pretty easy.

I still cheer for the Blackhawks, but being a Vegas native, when the Golden Knights were started, it was an easy transtion. First pro sports team ever in vegas, and with their success, and going to games, no looking back.

Not becoming a Raiders, but will enjoy their games, and hope they do well.

Haven’t lived in Illinois since the late 90s. Still a Bulls fan and I highly doubt I live to see anything like the 90s again. In no way would I ever change teams. I root for some players but most are from Illinois. D Wade D Rose unibrow K Nunn etc etc

Only instance I have is I was a huge Sixers fan in my early years. The Dr J years, and Mo Cheeks and Fo Fo Fo. Got that from dad. He always had the games on in those early years. I learned I respected but disliked the Celtics and that the Lakers can just fuck the fuck right off.

But then the Sixers got less relevant. By the time they sent Barkley west there was a home team in Orlando. Then that home team got good fast. And I switched the Magic.

Used to love the Dallas Cowboys all during the Troy Aikman era.

Used to love the Cincinnati Reds during the Barry Larkin, Chris Sabo, Paul O'Neill era when I lived 30 mins from their AAA affiliate team.

Tried to become a Browns fan when Barry quit and Spielman went to expansion Cleveland.

That didn't last thru the entire preseason. There's nothing in Ohio worth rooting for.

Been a Lions fan for over 50 years.

It's called loyalty.

Only queers change teams. (pun intended)

The first NFL game I ever watched was the 1999(1998 season) Super Bowl. I was 7. I won 500 dollars on the Super Bowl square my grandpa bought me. 500 dollars to a 7 year old might as well be a billion. I became a Broncos fan. I still claim the Broncos as a team, but I also claim the Falcons out of convenience. I guess I never really dumped a team, but my former top NFL team has been relegated to co-favorite NFL team status. But I'm just a casual NFL fan as it is.

Been a UGA and Braves fan for as long as I've been alive, and the only time I ever changed favorite NASCAR drivers was when the previous favorite died, and I've been a fan of his replacement for 19 years now.
