Barkley insinuated Thursday that Texas A&M was going to be letting go of head coach Jimbo Fisher – and fork over the $95 million buyout money – in an attempt to go after Jackson State’s Deion Sanders.

His full quote was this: “I think there’s gonna be a shocker firing in the SEC and I know for a fact that they’re probably gonna go after Deion. I know that for a fact.”

The Next Round hosts eventually whittled the list down to Fisher at Texas A&M, leading Barkley to respond with “I didn’t say a word.”

I don’t believe they can file Jimbo as it would be an 85 million dollar check. I guess if Jimbo is so miserable he is willing to negotiate a lesser buyout it could happen but I doubt it.

It’s a huge number and I don’t buy that donor’s could raise that kind of cash with ease. What idiot writes 5 to 20 million dollar checks as donations to pay off a college football coach? It’s just too much.

I like Deion's energy but I don't know if he is ready for a job this big. A good fit for him would be a mid-to-low tier Power 5 program. Ole Miss seems like an ideal fit for example.

I don’t really know how you can cause a scandal now in college sports. As long as you don’t supply them with hookers and drugs or cheat academically there isn’t much you can’t do legally.
