Cicadas

We get these giant noisy fuckers more often than every 13 or 17 years.

I wounder if they migrate and I'm getting them from different areas every few years ...

I live just above the brown area.

I think every region gets some number every year. Several thousand can still make some noise. It's just every 13 or 17 (depending on the Brood) cycle is when you get MILLIONS of them.

You mean these things?

Don’t have them here, but they were out in Indianapolis the year I played ball there.

We call em July flies. I don’t remember a year without hearing any

Never tried them, but I've heard they're very good battered & fried.

If you can catch one and put it on a hook and manage to keep it alive enough to buzz, it’s the best top water action you’ll ever see. I mostly fish for catfish, crappie, bream and striper, but one of the biggest largemouths I ever caught was with one.

I’m not eating bugs. I’ll starve before I do. And this is from a guy that loves pickled pigs feet

I haven't heard one yet, but my tinnitus is back so maybe I have.

I've seen 5-6 of these things buzzing around recently and I didn't know what the hell they were. Then I found out and understand why I'm seeing them now
