Morning, slaggards. Should probably have just taken the day off today and had a full week off work.

Christmas was great. Kids loved their presents. Wish we could have done more that didn't involve me driving around all weekend, but whatever. Went to my parents' on Friday, in-laws Saturday, and a more extended in-laws party yesterday. Sunday was going to be the one day I was going to relax at home, but then we found a kitchen table that fits what we wanted being sold on FB, so I had to go pick that up, and then move our existing table out of the house. We're selling that for close to what we bought the "new" table for. We'll wind up having to buy more chairs (new table is counter height, so the extra standard chairs we have are no good now), but I think we come out at a net cost of like $250 for a table that fits our space better and we can seat more people at.

I guess I bought myself a new water heater for Christmas. It started popping the breaker Sunday, so got a new one at Menards yesterday.

Took me all of 40 minutes to get it down into the basement, hooked up, and filled for use.

Them bastids have gone up in price considerably over the last few years. WTF

morning

this week is just dead...I need to get some training done and whatever else...but for the most part I am hoping I can coast into 2022.

my NYE party is up in the air...might just pull the plug on it

The broads sister is in town this week which means I'm stuck over at her moms most of the week. Which then becomes a shit show with all the dogs. Was planning on taking a couple days off this week, but think I'll just work instead to stay away.

I thought about giving it a go, putting one of those in myself. Had too much other shit going on, though. Already had workers doing stuff for t new bathroom and the finishing job in the basement. Just overpaid someone else to do it for me.

Two wires and two hoses. BOOM!!

I even took it down to the basement myself. They're light when empty.

It would have taken me longer if it were gas, but I can sweat pipe too.

I made a solar one for my pool. Cheap materials and it worked great.

One 4x8 sheet of plywood painted flat black.
Coiled up garden hose painted flat black. Use roofing nails to attach to plywood.
Typical cheap Intex pool pump.

Drop both ends of hose into the pool.
Hose from cold pool into the pump, through the coil, warm water back out into the pool.

The water output from the coil back into the pool averaged 90° on sunny days. Extended my pool season up here 40 days on each side (spring/fall).

gophers play in bowl tonight, kick off 930 central, I'll probably watch start, but not interested enough to stay up late for an exhibition game

good thing I didn't go to phx, the flight situation is a huge mess

Got a notice yesterday that the insurance finally paid the balance of the ambulance bill for the transport from our local hospital to the hospital where Tank wound up being born.

How old is Tank now?

Was supposed to take my FIL to a dentist appt today, but woke up with a headache and pretty nasty little cough. Not sure I should be exposing him to anything. Not sure what it is, but I feel like dog shit.
