This was a question I posed with a minute. Gonzaga is going shove three bowling balls up the asses of UCLA or Michigan.

If this isnt an absolute massacre in favor of the Final Four appearance, we gotta consider shutting down the Hoop.

So there is no option as to how stupid this question really is?

Go ask OU, Creighton, and USC fans if they were wishing they lost their previous rounds so they wouldn't get embarrassed.

Sure it's not the National stage, but who the hell cares?

Gonzaga may go down as one of the best teams to ever tip the ball in play, so playing on that stage is only going to get better recruits to look at UCLA moving forward.

It's hard to equate it to anything, but if I were to compare, I'd say making the Final 4 for a college basketball fan is comparable to making the Superbowl or making the NBA Finals and just knowing you're going to get crushed. I didn't mention baseball, cuz in baseball you always have a chance.

To a casual fan, it might seem easy watching an 11 seed like UCLA get it done, but its pretty rare for something like that to happen, and there's so many schools that it's unlikely your school will be the one who pulls something like that off.

To be honest, the more common scenario is that a school has a decent program and gets 3, 5, 6 seeds for years, and years and never makes the Final 4 until they finally suck again.

They might win in the year of COVID.

They’re never going to go down as one of the best.

Bad timing for Cinderelly.

OU was without their 2nd leading scorer and had a lead for much of the 1st half vs Gonzaga. OU played them better than they played Baylor. Can't wait to see that game.

I'd much rather get crushed in the Elite 8 (like we did lol) than lose a close one in the Sweet 16.

There are a couple of reasons for that...

1. Before the season, I didn't expect USC to even make the tournament. So going to the Elite 8 makes it a great season, imo, regardless of how it ended.

2. Losing a close one means an off-season of "What if's?" and speculation. This kind of ending prevents that and lets the team focus on what they have to do to get better.

Covid actually made it harder on UCLA. Cancellations caused the Bruins to play 5 of 7 games on the road near seasons end.

Imagine as a student playing those 7 games traveling from LA CA to Pullman WA (1,110 Mi or 8hrs), to Seattle WA (312 Mi or 4hrs), to LA CA (1,135 Mi or 8hrs), to Salt Lake UT (688 Mi or 5hrs), to Boulder CO, (511Mi or 4.5hrs) to Eugene OR (1,263 Mi or 8.5hrs ) then back to LA (857 Mi or 7hrs) all in 19 Days.

So that's 19 days traveling nearly 6K miles and 45 hours of pure travel just to play 5 road games and 2 at home trying to close out a season.

Needless to say, the Bruins closed the season losing their last 4 games before the Big Dance, that's as many as they lost all season prior to the last 4 (19-4).

I'm telling you now, should this No 11 seed somehow get past undefeated Gonzaga and go on to beat another No. 1 or No 2, has to go down as one of the best Championship runs ever!

shit...i thought they were gassed going up against MSU and picked MSU in the sweet 16.

DUh, This a question I thought was super thought provoking. Would you rather your woman go deep throat, and let you gush down her throat, or would you rather she walked away right before you got to nut?

That's what I'm hoping happens here...if we could just find a coach lol.

Trying to respond, what exactly constitutes a massacre?

I mean considering this first four 11 seed is facing an undefeated 1 seed with their first ever chance in the FF, I'd guess even a double digit loss of 20 might seem less than a massacre.........

What do you think is a 'massacre' in this scenario @wazzu31 ?

The Zags did just beat No 6 by 19, a No 5 by 18, & No 8 by 16.

What does a massacre to a play-in No 11 look like for an undefeated Gonzaga just a game away from the NT game?

I'd rather lose every game we've ever played in the tourn.... oh wait.

I think I speak for everybody here when I say we all want to gush down your woman's throat.
