I took my boys when my youngest was at Georgia Tech. It's pretty solid. It's not Cooperstown or Canton, but as a college football fan, it is probably better. It's big and it has a ton of exhibits, there are also a lot of interactive experiences that are geared to the younger crowd...kicking a field goal, throwing TDs, 40-yard dash...that sort of thing. They give you an opportunity to customize your experience, via their pass so it gives you more things about your team as you are going through the exhibits. It is very interactive with videos and that sort of thing. They have a pretty impressive gift shop as I recall.
It's in a good location for checking out other things in Atlanta...World of Coca-Cola, Civil Rights Museum, Georgia Aquarium. You can get a Citypass that is good for admission to like 9 different places including all of these plus I think the zoo for like $95 or so. It's good for admission for a week or so I believe. The HOF itself is something like $30. They say 2-3 hours for the Hall, but we were closer to 5.
