Would they simply sign these kids to financial contracts once they sign their commitment and get it over with? Quit the amateur athletics BS and just make it essentially the minor league for the NFL.

I just saw an article about Michigan with a NIL collective called the One More Year Fund or something along those lines. It is a fund set up where any fan can go and donate to it and it was setup to convince any player with NFL eligibility to come back for one more year, so any funds collected will go to those players.

If they all leave for the NFL anyway -- any money collected will be distributed evenly with the existing members of the team.

This shit is getting exhausting. Just give these kids a damn salary and get it over with. Give teams a salary cap, let schools trade kids away -- if they want to get paid like the NFL, go all the way and make it just like the NFL.

I’m thinking Corrum is coming back for more money than he’d get as a fourth rounder next year.

No clue. I know NIL is a huge issue at UM. You have guys who have openly come out and said it. At least with the Valiant Group -- they are trying to do something. But it'd be impossible for UM to give them the contract he'd get in the NFL. Even as a 4th round pick -- you are signing a 4 million dollar deal.

I'm laughing watching the One More Year Fund. They've raised like 80,000 already in the less than 24 hours. All of it will go to the players who stay and don't leave for the NFL and it just stays open indefinitely and fans can simply go in and donate money to the players.

Whatever players who are NFL eligible get to split the money. That's how I read it. I don't know for sure, but it was truly odd that they only listed 4 players:

the crowdfunding campaign designed to retain key Michigan football players starting with Blake Corum, Cornelius Johnson, Trevor Keegan, and Zak Zinter.

That is our starting RB, a starting WR and two OL starters.

Such a bizarre time in CFB.
