Colonoscopy - Just Do It

My line of thinking is the same as Pete’s. Don’t wanna die, but ain’t scared of it either.

If the grim reaper showed up right now, I’d bend that bag of bones over and fuck it in the ass before it took me.

But there’s no chance of someone sticking a camera on a rope up my butt

Nothing to it. You're fully sedated and don't feel a thing. If they see a polyp, they remove the polyp and show you a picture of it. The key is early detection of any problems.

Prostate biopsies, on the other hand are a different story.

I literally just received a text that my twin brother is being wheeled into the surgery room to do a "wound washdown" and if infection is not detected, they will sew him back up.

They went in with an exploratory surgery 3 days ago after a week stay in the hospital wasn't solving pain issues in his abdomen. Turns out he had 3 holes in his lower intestine. They had to remove 8" of it and reattach the cut ends.

He, much like @Peter Gozintite was stubborn and didn't go get a colonoscopy when he was supposed to.

He's paying the price for that stubbornness and he's yet to receive the full bill. They've already told him he has to get up and walk around before he can go to bed tonight. That's the worst part after surgery...that first walk.

I'm not scared of death either. I didn't get scoped because I fear death; I did it because cancer is an agonizing way for your life to end and I'd much prefer to go out by some other means.

Besides, those doctor's kids aren't paying their own way to college.

Honestly, I'd rather pay for a doctor's kids to go to college through a life-preserving procedure of my own than be forced to pay for some random dipshits who chose to borrow $200k to get a useless Liberal Arts degree only to quickly realize that they couldn't get a good job with it or make enough money to pay the loans off.

If I got diagnosed with terminal cancer, I’m sure I’d die doing something I wouldn’t have done if healthy. I’m not very cautious as is, but under those circumstances, I’m throwing caution to the wind.

It’s not about the terminal cancer brah. It’s about catching it before it becomes terminal cancer. Think of how much cocaine you’ll miss out on by dying 30 years earlier than needed.

wait until dumbass chewy doesn't realize its not about the life/death thing. its about the process of the slow PAINFUL deteriorating process.

death doesn't scare me.. but a slow painful death is something I'd like to avoid.

But think of all the cocaine and heroin and meth and pcp and fentanyl I’d be doing in the mean time

Sounds good on paper, but most people w terminal cancer aren’t out there skydiving without parachutes or drag racing motorcycles into traffic. The pain makes it hard enough just to get out of bed.

Your best chance to is make sure your lawyer draws up a DNR for you, then you just stop taking your meds.

Then just sit there and wait to die.

I know of a guy who did exactly this.
