Commissioner Brett Yormark says Big 12's expansion strategy is about 'going out west'

"eyeing the backdoor" No one else can leave the conf for 3 more years no matter what they may wish.

There is no urgent rush to sign anything.
does the Pac have a minimum number of schools
required to maintain the conference?

Not that I'm aware of.

I just don't see any school leaving without knowing everything that's on the table. That means knowing the full bottom line for whatever the Pac is offering itself for new TV deals and if they can grab other teams that provide value to shore up those TV deals.

Do I think Oregon or Washington sign a deal if the B1G offered them USC levels of stupid money? Sure. Why wouldn't they? I don't think that's coming anytime soon and I don't see any other conf offering that level of stupid money. Because of that, I don't see them in a hurry to jump ship and if they aren't in a panic I don't see the others making a hasty retreat either.

The assumption that someone else is about to bail so we are going to bail first! Just feels like fans doing fan things, not what's actually happening in internal meetings at the schools themselves.

They are locked into playing through the '24 season and have up until the end of next June to opt out of the conf before it rolls farther.

I'd be surprised to see any major changes coming until well after the season. Maybe spring.

surely the regents of the Arizona schools
are considering the potential
of Oregon and Washington leaving,
and are planning accordingly -

agree -
and spring is right around the corner,
so likely, plans are being readied -
we'll see -

So you just ignoring the other part
The part where they talk about a good fit for a school, or the football part.

I think they'd be fine with our football program, as they have Kansas which football program is historically, and recently worse than ours.

Wow - you said 'ruined your coach', I assume they raped him.

Turns out you meant COUCH. Got it.
Lol….in high school his coach damn near ruined him…or at least didn’t do him right. Damn 6A coaching mentality doesn’t believe in playing guys two ways. Kid played running back and was a good high school running back. But no way he was going play there in college. I told my wife every game when he got to college they were going to switch him to LB or DE. What did they do. Moved him to LB, red shirted him and five years later he either leads the WAC in tackles or is top 3. Can’t remember which.

Two things stick in my craw.
1. I hate prevent defenses. They prevent you from winning imho.
2. I hate coaches that won’t let their best players play both ways. If they have two that ate equal, fine. But if one is better and plays on the other side of the ball as well, play that sucker. You can “spot rest” them.

I guess the 2nd one goes back to my Sammy Baugh influencing. Sucker led the NFL one year in passing, interceptions AND punting. Survived that and lived long enough to kick cows around on his ranch until they put him in the dirt.
