The fact is Lanning has to be able to put the pieces together regardless of money and assistants. You've got to get players lined up right and to play disciplined.

aggy just got the number 1 class, bama and GA got top 3 classes all because of bagmen not NIL. Schools are still trying to wrap themselves on how to get a good NIL system in place.

Bagmen aren't going away. they will be replaced but as of now they are still the factor. In about 3 more years, not so much.

Also what does Texas have to do with this? GA just showed if you keep stacking classes you'll break through. Oregon/Lanning will do it's best to do that, even though it will be harder now that LA is reenergized

So are you saying 1) Texas doesn't have bagmen, 2) Texas is inept at buying players, or 3) Not enough money in the world to get top talent to play at Texas?

they never got busted..

But i'm not naive that they didn't but i think it was more of the $100 handshake.. on the pony express doc even Dickerson said UT told him, if you don't play here you will be blackballed in the state lol.. aggy offered a transam and the rest was history
