Have anyone tried this or thinking about it?

I have never had any interest in a camper and ever since COVID, my mom and I have a vacation that lasts 4-5 days. We just take an SUV. I sleep in a tent and she sleeps in the SUV. Sometimes, my mentally disabled brother goes with us. We usually find a cheap campsite with bathhouse.

If I were to use it for weekend camping, I would still use bathhouse and outhouses that are provided.

I was thinking trying to get 2, possibly 3 beds or sleeping area for 3. Possibly be able to convert into couches and tables

Entertainment, great if my brother was coming but good to have that luxury. Maybe a kitchen set up, just in case I need that. A/C or a way to keep it cool. Doubt I will use it in the winter.

It seems like a lot of work but not too difficult. I have friends and family that could easily help me with what I wouldn't know how to do. Got a cousin that does spray insolation. Brother in law who is an electrician. And good handymen all around my family.

Anybody have tried it or seriously looked into it? I wonder if it is worth it.

You’d be better off just buying a camper.

I have been seeing these on YouTube.

I have a neighbor that did this. Do a 3/4 or 1 ton van

My cousin is actively attempting to convert an ambulance into a camper. From what I gather, it has been a challenge.

My uncle converted an old school bus into a camper and we drove it to Mexico one year for vacation. It was a hell of an adventure!
