GAME COTTON BOWL (CFP semi): #8 tOSU vs #5 Texas • 6:30c • ESPN

anomaly ??

so i guess BV not scoring a TD in 2 of his 3 matchups vs Texas was an anomaly too? Him having to hire new Coordinators (BOTH) again.. back to back years is another anomaly?

2 out of 3 seasons..6-7.. I hope you keep BV forever cause i enjoy his anomaly of a pattern record in Norman :)

#HookEm

Come on bro you know Vince Lombardi couldn't o er come what BV was dealt this year. His first year was unfucking what LR did. BV lost 2 games last year. Nobody saw the entire wr and online injuries this year so yeah it was pretty much the definition of an anomoly.

Herbie was crying about a hold not called against OSU earlier. Watch what they did to Sawyer on the 3rd down.

STILL no holding calls on OSU opposing offenses since game #3 vs Marshall.

didn't know that Arch got concussed here.. that's why he didn't play any after this play?

huge hit by Ransom here

I was wondering about the way he got up myself. You could something wasn't right. I didn't notice there was helmet-to-helmet contact and thought it was because he'd landed on his left shoulder. i.e. A dislocated shoulder or even a broken collarbone. He looked to be in pain and favoring it when he got up.

The next day….still mind blown over that 2nd down Toss play.

He's getting a bit overshadowed, but Judkins ability to finish two red zone opportunities was HUGE. He was running angry all game. Great 1-2 punch with Henderson.

Somewhere in the game thread I lamented about them not keeping Judkins involved after the way he started. He was running angry

Day made the same call on third and short with Judkins.

Howard is 230lbs. I was screaming at the TV to run the sneak.

I was yelling the same thing. Also our blitz on 3rd and 7 that led to the 2nd Texas TD. We had been getting pressure with just 4, Ewers had been doing nothing but throwing to the backs at that point, and the call just allowed the RB to be wide open for an easy score.

I have a hunch @SlinkyRedfoot is going to add more Peckers to his list of losing bets, lol.

I guess we have to wait another week for the Jim Knowles to OU for DC announcement.

The QB always gets blamed in a play like that. Never the O linemen that completely failed at their job.

Ewers rolled to his left on that play AWAY from Sawyer. If Williams even gets a slow down on him Ewers gets that pass off.

I said the same thing about Mccords game sealing interception against scUM last season. He couldn't step into his throw bc Donovan Jackson got absolutely trucked on the interior. Ball flutters and doesn't get to Harrison who was open. Jackson does his job there and there is a good chance mccord gets enough on the throw to complete that.
1st and goal from the one.
You max protect on a roll out and all block in the same direction so there’s almost no chance for a holding penalty. You send three guys into the end zone. If one is open, throw a laser to the knee away from the closest defender. If none open, throw out the back.
If you can’t get a TD in four chances, you deserve to lose, but you have it the logical shot.
And if you do go four and out, you still preserve all the time and timeouts for a possible other drive.

There is no logic amongst football coaches.
Kiffin fucked this up at usc. And Sark just did the same exact thing.

Sometimes logic is MUCH more important than football knowledge or football creativity.

Not sure they called a single holding in this game, so it’s hard for anyone to complain about it. May not be great officiating, but it was fair

Think Ohio State got called for two, definitely one

I don’t agree with it, but there is some logic behind it.

1. Gameplan is based on the film. Sark watched PSU, Nebraska, and Oregon get stuffed trying to run between the tackles vs OSU. They were the #1 Redzone defense
2. Sark runs inside on play 1 and it gets completely stuffed.
3. Sark sees film study confirmed and decided to go outside. Play is actually meant to be cut inside wood Banks. I am assuming they are relying on Downs going laterally down the LOS. He doesn’t and blows up the play

I still don’t like the call, but the above is at least a logical explanation of why it was called
