Cougar chases man down trail

I know with bears you are supposed to make yourself bigger and scare them off.

I guess that doesn't work for mountain lions?
That’s black bears. A grizzly will take that as an act of aggression and fuck your shit up

bears generally eat berries and stuff.

cats are carnivores first and foremost.
There is that too. Bears only typically go into "attack" mode with humans when they are injured or cubs are nearby

I live closer to some really serious dense woods but I would not walk around there without the .45 and 2 extra magazines.
Not much around here will kill you. There’s the occasional mountain lion, but they’re not common around here. Black bears tend to run off when they see you and coyotes are pussies. Watch for rattlesnakes and copperheads and you’re golden.

I watched that video and have never been in that situation but I think after a couple of minutes I would have to confront it. Once it becomes obvious it's not going to stop tracking me, you've got to do something or it's going to pounce

Thought you had water moccasins as well....? No?

Yeah, but you don’t encounter as many, and they’re easier to spot. A copperhead won’t kill you unless you just don’t get treatment, but their defense is to lie motionless under leaves and line needles and then bite you when you accidentally step on one. I’ve never been bit, but I’ve been bit at.

Poison is poison, and I'd just rather not fuck with it....
Can’t be skeered.

I’d love for you to have been there for the couple of times I killed a rattler by stepping on its head and cutting its head off with my pocket knife

None of them around here should kill you if you get treatment. Diamondbacks are more dangerous than moccasins though.

Only about 5 people die from snakebites per year in murica.

True,m

down here I would say there are more moccasins than copperheads, but plenty of both. Moccasins and Copperheads are actually closely related and almost look the exact same when they are young. Cottonmouths just get darker as they get older.

***i've been on a venomous snake kick here for the last few weeks watching utube en googling en sech.

You ever watch River Monsters? That was pretty fascinating.

At my hunting club in south GA, you see a lot more moccasins, up here, there’s some, but it’s not like down there where you expect them in every body of water. I’d say copperheads are the most common venomous snake around here followed by timber rattlers then diamondbacks

And ftr, people who run or bike in bear and lion country are fuck-retarded.

Took that tard long enough to figure out there are rocks fucking everywhere. Stop filming the fucker and sweet-talking it, and haze the fucker off!?

That dude allowed that shit to go on for far too long.

City folk are retarded.
He did what you're supposed to-- well, other than filming the whole thing. The cat was obviously a mom and was pushing him away from her cubs. If he had either run away or tried to fight the thing, it would have substantially increased the chances of attack. By yourself, I think you're supposed to either carry a firearm and/or back away slowly.
