Could these conference realignments lead to another D1 subdivision split?

There are 2 subdivisions in D1 - FBS and FCS
There are 3 NCAA divisions, NAIA, and NCAA (JuCo)
The gap in revenue will cause the big 2 to leave the NCAA and form their own entity.

Not seeing that.
These are universities with presidents, BOR's, etc., not private farm clubs.
The vast majority of these kids will never play another down of organized football after they leave college, but they'll have a degree in hand.
There were already rumblings about leaving the NCAA behind and forming their own governing body when there were 5 “power” conferences. Now that the revenue gap has whittled that down to two, you don’t think that becomes even more possible?

Because the people who would make those decisions are on the academic side of the house. There's far more money on the academic side of the house.
I hope you are correct because I love March Madness. I just don't see the Power 2 having the same interest in being governed by some folks from D2 and D3 schools in the future....even though they are only quasi governed by them in football now.
Now that I think about it, they don't need to form their own. They can do what they want right now because the NCAA has been rendered powerless.

NAIA is a whole different thing
The NJCAA regulates JC and CC
They just need to run it like soccer. Relegate crap teams promote great teams. Premier conference has 20 teams.
