CP3 on the move?

If you're the Suns that's a big NO.

You don't want CP3 coming in and dominating the locker room when you have Booker who is poised to be your franchise player. You do need some vets for direction, but based off everything we've seen in CP3's career, he's not taking a backseat anytime soon.

I'd also add that, unless he's given up on ever winning a title, he would have no reason to go to the Suns. I think he'll try to get traded to a contender if he has a choice.

Well doesn’t everyone try to get traded to a contender?

Not necessarily. A lot of players, especially young players, will just want to go to the highest bidder regardless of who it is. There's kind of a "chase the money when you're young and chase the rings when you're older" mentality with a lot of guys.

That's why there are CP3 to the Lakers rumors. He's 35, doesn't have a ring and has made his money. Now he wants a ring to close out his career. That's why Dwight Howard asked the Lakers to let him play for them on a non-guaranteed contract that paid him less than a million dollars. CP3 would probably re-work his deal to go to the Lakers or another contender if the players association would allow him to.

Also, a young player may want to go to a young team that looks like they could become contenders in a couple of seasons. Especially if they have a fun style of play.

For example, I think a young player would be more interested in playing for a team like the Pelicans who look to have a real good core of young players and could be contending in a couple of seasons or so, than to an older team like the Lakers. Sure, they might have a better chance at getting a ring now with the Lakers...but how much are they going to have in common with guys who are 7- 14 years older than they are?

We need draft picks! Lol

Paul is going somewhere, no question about that. Everyone except for SGA, dort and bazley are up for grabs.

Looks like the Lakers are trading Danny Green and the #28 for Schroder.

How many first round draft picks do the Thunder actually need. Crazy

It looks like they may be doing what Ainge and the Celtics did a few years back and gathering as many assets as they can. They can use them, package them to move up in a draft or make a trade. That strategy is still helping them.

That would be the smart move, imo. They have a nice team that fights hard, never quits and would be making the playoffs every year for the foreseeable future. But it's not a contending team. They'd be stuck in that NBA purgatory. Not good enough to win a title, but not bad enough to land a star in the draft.

OKC in my estimation would likely not use all of those pics and would probably try to dangle more than a few to land a superstar down the road. If in the near future they can hit on a couple guys to build a foundation those later 1sts will have them in a lot of trade conversations. Additionally the cap space that they're going to have is going to be ridiculous so they'll have a ton of options.

Nice add but they may have overpaid. But, now Booker can play SG.

Still say that this makes perfect sense for the Suns, but less so for CP3 given his age.

Maybe he decided that a title isn't in the cards? Or, maybe the Suns are working on something more?
