Crypto

Any foray I've made into crypto has been with money I wouldn't miss if the whole thing went bust.
It can't go bust. You can't turn off the blockchain. It can lose value but it can't stop.

If the valuation is so high now, imagine what's going to happen as the technology is actually adopted. That's what is beginning to happen in earnest in the last few months and it's super exciting.

How does this work with metaverse?

do we buy robucks and shit now? My god this confuses me.

Genuine question, maybe you can help @HammerDown but what are all these crypto credit cards I've been seeing ads for? Do you use it to pay in crypto? If so how does it know which you're paying with?
I had asked someone about the cards a few weeks ago and they told me:
The secured card earns CRO back. You just “stake” your crypto for a set time in order to qualify. Staking is just locking up your coins for a certain amount of time so they can’t be sold.

I’m not sure if he meant to use the term “secured” (I had to nope on the convo fairly quickly :what:) but wouldnt that mean it’s your actual cash you’re spending and you’re just earning the CRO as “points” (similar to earning miles) to accumulate?

Top crypto analyst just filed a detailed report valuating CRO at $14.85

Buy it on crytpo.com and stake it and tell all your loved ones to do the same.

:noidea:
I bought about $100 of it just in case.

My friend started saying stuff like “2 layer solutions”, “roll ups” “interoperable chains” and “gas fees” and I’m pretty sure my eyes glazed over and I started thinking about that one time I was…wait- what was I saying?

Anyway- he said he’s paying attention to zksync, arbitrum and optimism as alternatives to ethereum since it is so expensive to use.

Yep. I still have no clue what most of it means

Elon Musk is dumping his Tesla stock like crazy. Tesla is way overvalued, and has major recall problems throughout the world.

Also, Tesla is no longer alone making higher end attractive EVs. They now have competition from Volvo, Ford, GM, BMW, Toyota, Honda, Hyundai, etc. for the EV dollars.

I read/heard on MSN or Yahoo or Bloomberg or CNBC, that the top engineering and software talent that used to be at Tesla has been poached by the same Volvo, Ford, GM, BMW, Toyota, Honda, Hyundai, etc.

Not looking good.

A shoe drops:

Let’s be honest, dole- we know this isn’t the worst thing I’ve ever wasted money on.

Oh, I bet you have, Dole. Yeah, definitely not the future. It's a fad.

Yeah, I looked at crypto in detail, starting with Satoshi Nakamoto's white paper and spent hours listening to experts talk about blockchain in detail.

It's backed by nothing but user consensus, period.

From the paper:
"The system is secure as long as honest nodes collectively control more CPU power than any
cooperating group of attacker nodes."

Stick a hard fork in it, Hammer. (pun intended).

You are entirely clueless (except for what you just Googled when you learned how Satoshi started things with the Bitcoin whitepaper).

"We need Washington, DC. to regulate and secure cryptocurrency. Until then it's not secure. I don't trust the blockchain, sorry guys." - Dole
