We beat ohio state and ohio state beat you. You WERE the #1 team, We are currently the Champions and we should stay Champions regardless of the Championship Game, because possession is 9/10th of the law. This is some dumb ass logic, but it is superior to your logic.
Pasadena wasn't a problem, but it certainly isn't this huge site advantage people are making it out to be as Ohio State has played in the Rose Bowl for about 100 years, it's part of the PAC/B1G history. And playing at Pasadena fails in comparison of advantages of Texas getting to play in Dallas or UGA in Atlanta

Oregon should have been given a stadium they had an opportunity to play in year after year
