Curious how the CFP would handle this

The College Football Playoff expanded this year to 12 teams. Did the equate, or did the college football world, take into account for if you have a situation where a team only has one loss, that coming in the playoffs but a 2 loss team wins the national championship or if the two teams in the national championship game lost to that undefeated team?

For example, Oregon entered the playoffs as the #1 team and undefeated. The Ducks beat Ohio State and Penn State, two playoff teams and two teams in the playoffs. The Ducks won the B1G which both Ohio State and Penn State are apart of. Oregon only suffered one loss, which came in the playoffs. They only got one game in the playoffs to play while the other two got an extra game.

What if Ohio State and Penn State played in the national championship game? Where does that put Oregon? A possible debate for a share of the national championship? I mean the Ducks beat both of them and potentially will have less losses than the winner. Penn State is 0-1 vs the Ducks and Ohio State would be 1-1. Seems this is a plausible scenario the CFB world forgot to iron out when they put together the bracket. Major flaw in their playoff ranking and bracket. Another reason the system needs a complete overhaul and revamp for next year and year's moving forward. We can't have this mistake happening again and we can't punish the #1 team in the country for going undefeated and winning their conference championship. No other sport have I seen such an asinine playoff ranking setup.
Dumbass.

The only thing that would have made this game better would have been for the second round games to be played at home stadiums. Watching the ducks get slaughtered at Autzen would have been glorious.
I love that idea, and my guess is that happens in 2026. The Bowl contracts are signed through then. The Rose Bowl insisting on starting on time even though the Peach Bowl was not over won them no friends. ESPN is going to tell them to fuck off in 2026.

If you have home games for the higher seed in the first two rounds, that's enough incentive/reward and you don't need bye weeks.

This one was definitely a coaching problem. Oregon was clearly hilariously unprepared. They were game planning like Ohio State was going to do the same game plan they did against Michigan.
Yeah, it's like they didn't see the UTjr game.

Remember during the season, @OregonDucks you kept telling the folks here that the rent was due. Would you have accepted partial rent? Now come on OD, you don't want a partial championship, do you?
He went from Oregon and everyone else, our conference bullshit to hoping Oregon can lawyer their way to a taste of the championship after getting absolutely pantsed in their first playoff outing.

He’s a real dumbass.

He's working on banning teams from being able to have too many long plays too. Go see his crying about how unfair one team having a bunch of long explosive plays is in the rose bowl thread.

When is the OP going to realize that the reason his team lost isn't because of the bye, it's because the band wasn't close enough to the field.
Also, no one was beating Ohio State that day.

The Champions of the P4 get bye ... that would have been Oregon, Georgia, Arizona State and Clemson.

Having a Bye Week give you a huge advantage (as it should).
Theres only a p2

Didn't Oregon play in the B1G championship game? In Indianapolis? That's in Indiana, right? Oregon had to travel... and won that game. So, the Buckeyes traveled to Pasadena. That's in California, right? Seems tit for tit to me. The only difference is Oregon LOST.

Even your coach, the one you said was the greatest, said, "I didn't get our team prepared." Sounds like a coaching problem to me. Not a seeding problem, not a committee problem, not a rust problem... a coaching problem.

Anyone blaming the seeding for this is a chump

They were also exposed. Zero vertical passing game, which should not be a surprise given their QB is 5'8 and has a rag arm. 10-15 yard screens, under coverage is all he can do effectively.
I mean they threw downfield all game in the first matchup. The difference on that side of the ball was osus dl got home.

Evan played the first game, didn't play this last game. "hurt" and saving himself for the next game, but well enough to suit up and dance like a dumbass on the sidelines.

Then split it so 1/2 are on 12/31 and 1/2 on 1/1.

RB aint changing and espn doesnt want to lose the game

Yeah i was at the game so i didnt find out why es was out until afterwards.

Seeding needs to be a discussion. The guy claiming it's his team and everyone else, no one can compete with them all year, right through the 3rd quarter of the Rose Bowl doesn't get to be a part of it.

Separate discussion from how oregon lost
Oregon just got punched in the mouth before they knew what was going on. After the first quarter they played pretty even, but too many points were spotted to tOSU to dig out of it.

Im convinced osu could have scored 60 if they wanted
