Dan Lanning got an enormous contract extension this week with an enormous buyout. Lanning, still a very young coach with a very bright future will be with the Oregon Ducks for a long, long time! SKOOOOO DUCKS!!!!!!!!!

In some scenarios it may cost a team over 100 million to get him, if you factor in his buyout and that schools buyout of their own coach they are getting rid of. Unless it's Alabama, Georgia or LSU, I don't see any program being able to afford Lanning at this point.

Now add the payout the school had to make to their coach they were firing. That there is 40 million just to deal with all the buyouts. Now you have to give him his contract, which is obviously going to be more than what Oregon would be paying him. You're looking at a $70 million dollar turnaround.

Now the question is would they. Who was the last Oregon to leave and find success in coaching? Doubt ESPN would pay a buyout to get him on the air. :dhd:
