December 1 morning - the end (of 2020) is nigh

Well the wife needs to have a 9' tree, so the ones she liked were around 250 to 300. for a dead tree.
Must be because you live in a desert. I could go get a 9 foot tree for $75, easily. If I wanted a fir, probably $100

Didn't get near the snow they were claiming for here. I'm sure it was slick this morning though. Wife and the kids put up the Christmas tree last night. I feel it's still too early to put the tree up, though I probably would never put it up if it were up to me.

I actually have one of those from Aldi. It's INTENSELY strong so I only burn it when the windows are open. Luckily, the weather cooled down so I was happy opening the windows, but now it's in the 40s and is going down to the 30s overnight, which is way too cold for me so there will be no windows open for a few days until it's back up in the 60s.

We have two artificial trees, a dinky one that can sit on top of the grand piano in our living room, and a regular sized one. Since the rocking chair/recliner is up where the tree would normally go, we're going to try putting the big tree up in the basement, and the little one on the piano. Next year will probably only be the little tree, depending on how much of a terror Little Guy will be at a year and a half old.
We've got the 6' one in the living room, a 3' in the living room, a 6' pencil tree in our bedroom and a cute little 1.5' one on my antique table in the hallway. I would love another one, but the guest room is too full of my office, my sewing stuff, and his beer, so we'll have to wait until we buy a house.

....I live in an apartment, bruh.

I was just curious what this magical "fuck ton" was to gauge whether you were just being a cheap ass. $250 is a lot for a tree that's not growing

What's a "fuck ton" to you? I'll probably spend about $50 on my tree this year.

Live tree, every year

I usually spend $130-150 on our live tree, but we get a big one. About 10' or so.

The piano is probably the least favorite thing in my marriage. We have it because the in-laws' old house couldn't support it. It was my wife's grandmother's piano, had been in my aunt's house until she sold the place.

Thing takes up a third of the living room, and needs probably several thousand dollars of work to get it back into playing condition.

Pete also has to spring for that classy casino look to have his tree sprayed silver
