Deion Sanders, Jackson State Head Coach

High School to D1 is quite a jump. However, most people don't have the playing resume that Sanders has
It doesn’t matter how good of a player he was. He can’t suit up and hop in there on a whim. He went from worrying about a high school offense to worrying about a Division 1 program. That’s a jump that almost never happens, unless you’re Gary Faust.

Brilliant move by Jackson State
Everyone will be watching.

At least he's not an analyst anymore. He was awful

It's rare but not totally unheard of. Tony Sanchez went from coaching Bishop Gorman to UNLV. It's definitely a big jump but I think they are hoping Deion will excel on the recruiting end because of his name.

Definitely an angle that recruiting will take an up swing. An If he has good assistants around him hell he could succeed. But it is a huge slap in the face to assistants everywhere when a great player jumps them in leading a program because of his playing days. Especially when those playing days are nearing 3 decades away.

I wish him well hope he does a great job.

They're already talking about a new bond referendum on a new stadium now.

Back in the 90's we owned a home in North Dallas that was two houses away from Deion Sanders' home. We occasionally spoke to each other. I have to say one thing about the guy even though I'm a confirmed Cowboys hater. He was extremely polite and the guy loves a good joke. He had a cool wrought iron fence in his driveway that made me decide to get one for our place too. I was bitching about the price to him one morning and casually said it would have been a helluva lot cheaper to just steal his gate. From then on he would occasionally give me a nasty one eyed look as he drove past like he was keeping an eye on me. He's a good guy.
