Deshaun Watson being sued

Inquire but don’t lead off with a first. Even though the dudes worth it.
problem is the Texans would take a huge cap hit.
If I am the Texans I dont trade him at all, unless it was for some ungodly trade value. So no chance he is given away on the cheap.

I get it. I would think a cash option along with picks would Also work. But I don’t think you’ll see many teams do it unfortunately.

Watsons damn good and worth a first but no chance Houston is getting that right now.

He won't be of any benefit to them after he goes to prison.

Figured he would be suing the Dallas defense for the battery and solid fucking over they gave him yesterday.

In yesterday's game against the Cowboys, Deshaun Watson had 24/45, 169 yards, 1 TD, 2 INT, 3.8 yards per attempt, 51.1 passer rating.

Meanwhile, Baker Mayfield, whom the Browns pushed out for Deshaun Watson, was 24/30, 289 yards, 4 TD, 0 INT, 9.3 yards per attempt, 146.4 passer rating yesterday.

Deshaun Watson has, thus far, been paid $130 million of his $230 million fully-guaranteed contract from the Browns.

Over this time with the Browns, he has a 14-9 TD-INT ratio and a passer rating of 81.7.

Cursed franchise. How's that guy who replaced Watson in Houston doing?

Well, even beyond Stroud here are the players Houston turned those CLE picks into (Stroud was their own pick)

Kenyon Green
John Metchie III
Christian Harris
Thomas Booker
Dameon Pierce
Will Anderson Jr.
Calen Bullock
Tank Dell
Kamari Lassiter
Jamal Hill
Cade Stover
TBD - 2025 second-round pick courtesy of the Vikings to Houston

There is some legit power in that list.

Difficult choice for Cleveland when it came to Baker. He showed glimpses, especially in 2020, but took a major step backwards in 2021. He was playing through injury most of that year, but it was the final year of his rookie contract and Cleveland had to decide whether to keep him and pay big money or move on. They chose to move on, which isn't a terrible decision considering Baker was largely a middle of the road NFL QB that turned the ball over way too much for them.

I was anti-Watson from the jump (I wanted Matt Ryan, though he would have been just as bad in hindsight).

I don't think many could have predicted Watson being THIS bad and this injured. Certainly no one would have predicted Baker's resurgence since getting cut mid season by the Panthers in 2022. Give credit where its due, kid is a grinder.

Question....why are there no protests, outrage, and cancellations here? Because he is a minority perhaps?

fuck your lib double standard

People are more upset about Tyreek Hill being pulled over than this. His own HC cried tears over it.

Someone should ask him his feelings on Watson.

Just more proof Houston is probably a smarter organization. Cleveland wanted to blame all its woes on one player, rather than a bad front office. Going after Watson that hard demonstrates panic and idiocy. Enjoy that defense, Browns fans; I don’t think you’re the 2000 Ravens though.

hate it when bad things happen to good people.

wait, what were we talking about?

I mean...how many head coaches (first HC was the worst HC) and OCs/systems did Baker have to endure?

Went to playoffs in his rookie year, then they let his #1 target walk...how many times was he touched in those first couple of years? Puhlenty...no wonder he was dinged up.

After witnessing all of this, I wanted Baker out of there worse than any Browns fan wanted him gone I can assure you.

Brown Org couldn't figure it out. Get an OC that knows what Baker can do and crafts the offense to his strengths. Keep some stability through continuity....aka SPEND THAT MONEY. Nah, shitshow then and shitshow now.

I hoped he was a Brown for life because I like pulling for underdogs...and to see him get them to the playoffs, again, or a SB would have been golden.

There was never any chance Mayfield was going to go to a Super Bowl for the Browns. It's just too cursed of a franchise.

I read the account and if true it’s rape. With his history Watson is in big trouble.

I don't think they would have had to pay Baker big money after 2021. Part of it was his fault not taking himself out to heal, which he's now even admitted, but I can't think they would've had to give him more than $20/25m to come back, which obviously would've been preferred. He proved he could thrive in Stefanski's offense. I was always vocal about him being my choice for 2022, but they obviously went a different direction.

They didn't go to the playoffs until Baker's 3rd year, though they weren't bad his rookie year (7-8-1). No doubt the biggest mistake they made while Baker was in Cleveland was trading for OBJ. He ruined everything. It wasn't a coincidence that Baker had 10 TD/7 INT before OBJ went down in 2020 and then finished the year with 16 TDs to 1 INT. I have no doubt he could have been a star in Cleveland, but Haslem went full Draft Day and demanded we make the "splash" pickup with Watson.

Definitely a hindsight is 20/20 situation.

Hopefully Watson turns a corner, certainly can't get much worse than last week. At the very least, he refused to be pulled in garbage time so he still has some fight and desire in him. Just need to turn that into not sucking.
