Deshaun Watson being sued

after reading some of those I'm convinced Watson will be traded to the patriots for a 2nd round pick, and Kraft will show him how to find the discreet masseuses.
:slaphappy:

sounds like he gets massaged more than i change my underwear
Two or three massages a year is not out of the ordinary........ Just sayin.

I get one usually twice a year on vacation, so I too fit that category I guess.

They got some skanks to do some dirty work, and go on the record with some embarrassing shit. Talking about him asking to have fingers and hands up his ass? Just a straight money grab, and I bet they promised these brods money at the settlement, and I hope they dont get shit.

All that said, I dont know for certain what happened, but if he did ask for hands up his ass, hooooooooooooooooooo boy, how is he ever gonna live that down in an NFL locker room?

I don't think anyone is going to care he wants a chick to stick a finger up his ass in an NFL locker room. The whole key to this will be if criminal charges are eventually filed (reports are they are investigating it). If criminal charges are filed then this goes from a money grab to a serious civil case.

If they don't file charges then Watson can have the attorneys tie up the civil suit and tear them apart. Everything is going to be the criminal aspect of this and how many character witnesses he can produce. I'll say this if criminal charges are filed then it's going to be a long time until he sees a football field again.

Wait, isnt it already a civil suit? Criminal charges would not equal a civil suit. Criminal charges would change everything, but I didnt there were any police reports filed.

The police have to investigate at this point and if they determine a crime was committed then they will file charges. My understanding is that the criminal investigation is taking place right now.

But no civil and criminal are not equal but the evidence gathered in a criminal matter is admissible in a civil matter.

@dbldwn711 jump in here and give us a professional opinion.

Yeah I am aware of that, thats why your post confused me, when you worded it the other way around. There does not have to be a criminal court case for there to be a civil case. it is essentially a civil case right now, as they are seeking financial compensation for their "assault", and the burden of proof is much more loose in the civil arena.

i really haven’t been following this story much. All I’ve heard is that several CIVIL lawsuits have been filed. Has that prompted a criminal investigation? They are clearly not equal. If a criminal investigation has been started and if that investigation leads to actual charges then usually the civil case just waits for the conclusion of that criminal case. Why? For one reason if the charges result in a conviction then there’s no need for a civil trial.

From my limited understanding this is all at the very beginning. Watson is using the gold digger/extortion defense. Obviously, the more woman willing to say he did something inappropriate the harder it is to believe that.

The civil suit is all about money so it will go on until it is settled or dismissed but I agree it will be put on hold if there is a criminal case because the attorney will want the disclosures for the civil one.

It's easy to confuse you so I'll stop using big words.

no doubt. The civil lawyers will let the criminal case do all the work. It’s not just the evidence. It’s the leverage a conviction or even a plea can bring to the civil case.

Think of Kobe as an example. He was facing trial so he settled the civil case and got the victim to stand down which in turn got the charges dismissed.
