Deshaun Watson

So what's the process here because I'm assuming Houston doesn't have to trade him but I also assume that Watson will probably do something stupid like threaten to sit out.

I don't recall this type of scenario before but I haven't followed the NFL that closely either.
They need to trade him because it's over.....and I think he would sit out if it came down to it. They just need to trade him and move on.

He'd be fined for sitting out but I don't think he'd care at this point.

They can get quite a haul for him.

No doubt and the shape they are in a complete rebuild is in order and they need those draft picks back.

I’m not a fan of how Watson has conducted himself and it shows a lack of professionalism and maturity. I understand why he wants out and don’t blame him but I wouldn’t have made so public.

Let him go to New York and get raped by taxes and that is going to be a huge wake up call that the grass isn’t always greener.

It started under O'Brien. He traded Hop and then the Texans FO told Watson they were going to include him in the GM and coaching search......they have nobody to blame but themselves.

O'Brien fucked this franchise.

Watson also signed the extension after Hop was traded so while the Texans handled everything horribly, Watson isn’t coming out of this looking that good either. Not like Watson didn’t know before he signed extension that the Texans were a terrible organization

After already suffering two ACL injuries, probably smart to go ahead and take the 73 million guaranteed

Yea but still looks bad when you sign a massive extension and then demand a trade less than 4 months later. It’s not like they became a dysfunctional organization only in time since extension.

Watson is so full of himself and entitled right now that he can't see the forest through the trees. All he is thinking about is his "feelings" and what he wants and only has people around him kissing his ass and telling him how right he is.

I don't think he ends up in SF. If the reports are true about what it would take to land Watson in draft picks, I don't see that happening. I think Stafford is more likely

He also has an agent advising him.

The new GM doesn't sound like he wants to trade Watson.

"We'll talk to him IN THE SPRING."

They should be talking to HIM NOW so they can see if there is anything they can do to fix this or see what the best possible deal is out there.

Probably waiting for more teams to inquire. No need to rush but you want to do this before the draft

Sports fandom really is an abusive relationship. You know that?

Can't believe the GM wants to wait till March to talk to him.....
Why? Watson has zero leverage. The only talking to him they should do is either telling him which plane to get on to get out of town or asking him for the 20 plus million he will have to give back.
