MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL Detroit Lions 🦁 @ Dallas Cowboys 🤠 on a Saturday Night edition of MNF.

If you’re on the end of the line, you only need to report if your number is ineligible.

That’s as simple as I can make this.

The ā€œcenterā€ just being the guy who snaps the ball. If he reports as eligible and is on the end of the line, he can catch a pass. If you have your TE snap the ball, from the end of the line, he wouldn’t need to report as eligible. Since his number already takes care of it.
You are reading an old rulebook, numbers have nothing to do with it anymore.

Missed in all of this is the Lions player trying to trip the runner on the series before, but the refs somehow calling it on the Cowboys. Backed us up to 1st and 25, meaning we ended up about 6 yards short of a first down. Lions player CLEARLY tries to trip, Hendershot does nothing close to a trip, and is called for the penalty.

Plenty of fuck ups, but the guy not making it clear he was eligible is on 68 and no one else. His WR covering him up is on the WR.

It's actually two separate things.

If you are wearing a lineman's number (60s and 70s) you still have to report.

But you must also line up in an eligible position (WR, TE, RB).

Someone who lines up at tackle, guard, or center positions still cannot go downfield and catch a pass.

It absolutely does. The entire penalty was because the ref got the wrong number. After the oline reports as eligible the ref goes and tells the defense which number is an eligible receiver. It is also announced over the PA system..

Decker was so uncovered because theref gave the wrong number to the defense.

He was talking about the reserved numbers for positions, the NFL did away with that a few years ago. It's why you see DB's with single digit numbers now.

It was only illegal formation because the ref got the wrong number. All 3 penalties on the play come from the ref getting it wrong.
And the alignment of the WR and the TE pre-motion.

Oh, my mistake.

It is. Tonight was the best effort of the season. Lamb might not believe it. But it’s true.
Lions defense has been improved the last few weeks. Ever since they put in Melinfonwu and changed their blitzing they have seen a significant improvement.

We can all agree Cambell not switching to pat after the ref fuck up was dumb. It was only his 3rd dumbest call. His 2 dumbest being the fake punt that worked and not taking the fg.

"A large part of Brad Allen's crew is not going to be officiating in the postseason," ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter said Sunday on "SportsCenter." "They're going to get downgraded, and the chances are that many of them are not going to be involved in the postseason."

He knew the only way this game mattered was if the niners were to lose a game anyway. I can’t fault him for taking an aggressive approach.

Fire them all.

Fire them all.

Image result for I got nothing gif

They are now getting national coverage for fucking up the tripping call. They called the Dallas TE for trying to trip the Dallas RB. How stupid can you be to mess that one up?
