Did we ever figure out what the hell happened to the 2003 Oklahoma Sooners?

My man JD Runnels couldn’t finish

It will forever be a mystery man. I was at the Big 12 championship game in KC. Coldest I have ever been in my life. OU still played for a natty but had to play LSU in New Orleans. Still Jason White just barely over threw Kejuan Jones for that go ahead touchdown at the end of the game.

Look at these scores from that season

OU 20 Alabama 13
OU 52 Fresno St. 28
OU 59 UCLA 24
OU 53 Iowa St 7
OU 65 Texas. 13
OU 52 OSU. 9
OU 77 Texas A&M 0
OU 41 Baylor 3
OU 56 Texas Tech 25

This was the first college football season that I followed somewhat closely, although I didnt get super into it until 2006.

College hoops was my introduction to sports, so I was stunned at the narrative that a loss in the Big 12 CG should have eliminated the former #1 team from playing in the national CG. I get it now, but back then, man I was not listening to that garbage.

Kansas State was a pretty good team that just severely underachieved at times (Losing to 8-4 Marshall and 9-4 Okie State). They just put it all together in that Big 12 title game
Then had it taken all apart again in the Fiesta Bowl

When the OP figures out why his 2001 Cornhuskers gave up 99 points in their last 2 games, he might find the answer.

Anything else ???

Stoops did alright

Seven 10 win (or more seasons)
Six 11 win seasons
Three 12 win seasons

4 playoff appearances.

We almost let them comeback in that game lol. it was 35-14 after 3 but they had the ball with a chance to tie it at the end.
Oh I know it. It was a really fun game though. Bishop was a real pain in the ass.
