Well. Probably no one predicted this matchup preseason. I have to admit I am an ACC fan. I live within 2.5 hours of UVA, VT, Duke, Wake, NC State, UNC, etc. Been to many games at all of those places. Now, just can't see Wake beating Pitt. Probably close, but Wake still had a good season.

lol, this is what happens when you live in a state like Pennsylvania for too long

you get AIDS

Notre Dame COULD be playing their way into the playoff this weekend but… they like their independence… and being a coaching stepping stone for the SEC now :dhd:

Last 10 ACC Champs:

Clemson - 7
Florida State - 3

Best QB matchup this weekend

What about the flu outbreak? Real?

If Pitt wins, what bowl does Wake go to?

I don’t think a win over Pitt or Wake would move the needle much.

i think we need laugh more @ Miami in this thread

Wake has now made it to the ACC CG more times than Miami and Wake plays in the harder division

lol @ Da U

Hell, Duke has made it to the championship game more times than Miami.

Peach Bowl? Gator Bowl? Massengill Douche Bowl? Kotex Bowl? I hear you have to pull a lot of strings to get an invitation to that one.

Honestly, just about every sports hack needs Pickett to be healthy and lead Pitt to victory. Their story lines will be assured through the NFL draft. They'll get paid for streams of pap, mailing it in for months.

Pitt and Wake match up well. Their offenses are almost mirror images of each other. Both average ~43 points per game. Their top running backs' stats are separated by 23 yards and 2 TDs. QBs, Pickett has 6 more TD passes and 3 fewer INTs than Hartman. Favorite targets have over 1000 yards and double-digit TD receptions.

Pitts D is a little bit stingier overall and notably meaner against the run (allowing an average of 92 yards vs Wake's ~210).

I get that Pitt is a slight favorite of the odds makers.

I've no skin in this game. Given Pitts early victory at Tennessee, it will lessen the sting if they're ACC Champs. On the other hand, I've had a soft spot for little Wake since Jim Grobe was their coach. The littlest P5 school has a winning football team. Po-tay-to, Po-tah-to.

last appearances
2006 for Wake and they won
2018 for Pitt they lost.

pitt favored by 3

I wonder how much money you could have made if you had placed a wager back in August that the ACC championship game would be between Pitt and Wake.

You could probably retire to Belize comfortably.
