DISCUSSION: CFP NCG 2022 • TCU v UGA

Back to back titles would be great and all, especially since I’ll be in attendance, but it just doesn’t feel right not having to go through Bama

That's Alabama's fault, you should have had to go through Michigan as well ... but that is Michigan's fault. Georgia has been the best team all year and they are the best team now. After the Championship Game they will still be the best team in the NCAA - that doesn't mean they will win.

It's been a great year ... no complaints.

When we booked our flights to Vegas a few weeks ago, it was 500 bucks round trip. They’re 1700 now. It’s gonna be 80% UGA fans in LA

Georgia fans don't want to be comparing pay stubs and IQ's with TCU.

Duggan’s legs have to be the key. They couldn’t stop Stroud at times and he isn’t half the runner Duggan is. Plain and simple, Duggan needs to play better. Ohio St WR’s were getting open easy and they eventually had to double Harrison Jr. Quentin Johnson has to be that guy, TCU has some nice WR’s but they also need to play better. They dropped a lot of balls too. Maybe this 3-3-5 defense confuses Bennett at first but I think in the long run it benefits Georgia. I hope TCU wins but it isn’t likely
One advantage is that MSU ran the 3-3-5, so we prepped for it once this year. We also saw it in 2020, but Stet wasn't the QB.

I just looked at Georgia’s schedule for the 2023 season. My lord, it’s embarrassing. They play UT-Martin, Ball State, UAB, and Georgia Tech. Within the conference, they play an easy East division slate as usual, plus they don’t play Bama or LSU or A&M from the West until the SEC title game. Needless to say, Georgia will most likely be 12-0 next season again. They’ll roll up 30 straight wins or so at least in this current win streak they have going.
In our defense, we had a game scheduled with you that the SEC made us cancel.

That said, you are totally correct. We have as easy a schedule as you could want. We could have B2B2B undefeated regular seasons.

I should also point out we should be better next year than this year. We return about 70% of our team, maybe more. QB will be new, but we will be really solid everywhere.

If we are already talking about next year, this was an interesting tidbit I just picked up:

On tOSU's last drive of the Peach Bowl, the defense was playing five true freshmen - Starks, Williams, Bear, Walker, and Jones Jr. All of whom will be back next year, which is nice. When asked about having to play true freshmen in a game of that importance, Smart said:

“Some of them are out there due to unforeseen circumstances and injuries, and we don’t make excuses around here and talk about injuries and these problems, but we’ve had our fair share. And nobody feels sorry for us, and don’t want anybody to,” Smart said. “But we have to get those guys ready to play at a higher level.”

With our schedule, we will be the favorite again. Damn, it's nice to have great young players.
