Probably mentioned but formality reasons are still big.

Watches are outfit accessories for more formal occasions even if they aren't used, especially if you're in a spot where you can't check your phone for time for one reason or another.

I turned down being a groomsman because I didn’t want to rent a tux or have to stay somewhat lucid. I did wear a collared shirt and my 600 dollar pair of Tony Lama boots

Nah, but they were brand new, took the tags off. I wore a nice jacket too that covered em up, but I shed that thing as soon as the reception started
