Do you agree with adding the DH to the NL?

Hmmm?

If baseball is about nothing but home run- heavy offense, then it’s no surprise MLB made this change. It’s indefensible, except by those that supported the mindless AL style of play in the first place. Two “half” players aren’t superior to one complete player. Fuck the Yankees.

We apparently need more four hour games.

You think pitchers that hit extend game time?
No. Having a pretty easy out every nine at-bats shortens games. Apparently having your home games in Boston lengthens games, but that’s a topic for another day.

What’s your point then?

People who are bored by baseball should watch soccer or some damn thing.
Exactly. Baseball is different from the other sports. You don’t try to out football football or out basketball basketball. You need to lean into what makes you different.

Baseball that is less baseball will do nothing but alienate people who are looking for something different from football or basketball.

I would be willing to bet more people prefer DH in both leagues rather than pitchers hit. Avid or causal. The only demographic that would probably widely prefer the DH are the old fogies that grew up in a time when anyone throwing over 92 was considered a flamethrower and that advanced metrics didn’t matter. But thankfully that age group and thought is dying out.
No one wants to watch pitchers stand at the plate watching 3 fastballs go wizzing right down the middle of the plate and no one wants to watch some Tony LaRussa wannabe make 11 pitching changes in the last 3 innings of a game because "strategy!" :meh:

P.S. advanced metrics are for da fags.

But a pitcher getting a hit only adds to the fire.

I listened to the game that Tony Cloninger hit 2 grand slams. One of the most memorable games of my youth.
You only listened to it because television hadn't been invented yet.

Hell no. Having a DH takes all the skill out of managing a lineup.
It removes corresponding layers of strategy.

"I don't give a shit. Just show me a juiced HR, you purist asshole!" - the same guys who believe that pitchers are tougher today than in the past.

:L

"No one." Except all the ones who do (roughly half of baseball fans).
