Don't Look Up, a satire directed by Adam McKay and starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence, will be released on Friday, December 10, 2021 in select theaters and on Friday, December 24, 2021 on Netflix. Trailer:

New DiCaprio movie on Netflix

Heavy handed nod towards climate change, and pretty good, IMO. Great cast.

Very obvious political commentary too

Fun movie and captured the dysfunctionality of the White House. It was a parody but there are elements I’m betting you find in most administrations.

I don’t know where you get the climate change thing though. It was a movie about a newly discovered comet hitting the earth. It’s basically a disaster movie.

That they are just ignoring until it is too late. And there is 30 trillion dollars worth of some mineral or whatever on the comet, which was a nod to oil money.

You really didn't pick up on it being about climate change?

It’s about our planet being destroyed from The heavens. And Jonah Hill not being that funny since he became less of a fat fuck.

It could’ve been about climate change. But it wasn’t.

And I’ve seen Jennifer Lawrence’s butthole enough times I had no reason to stay awake.

Unless Leo fights bears, he isn’t that impressive. Neither is her butthole. It’s just a butthole. Like all other buttholes, it smells foul.

No because they are real factors:

1. There are planet killers out in space and one has hit earth before so that threat is real.

2. There are valuable minerals on asteroids and there are people trying to figure out how to mine them. If we can then it could actual help the environment dramatically as we could move mining off earth. So that scenario is real

As to the oil industry only an idiot thinks we could stop oil production today and not have severe consequences to everyone’s way of life. If this was a political statement on the environment it was flawed in every way.

None of this has anything to do with the fact they made this movie as a pretty obvious nod to climate change. They've said as much.

Watched it about a week ago. Made it about 2/3rds through before I fell asleep and for some reason I don't feel like I missed anything good. I'm not sure that all these hard left actors aand actresses realize that their attempt to mock conservatives and those of us that didn't fall for the AGW bullshit fell flat on it's face and only served to make the leftists look like idiots.

It's as clear as day what they are trying to get across.

I am shocked it isn't getting through to some people.

I finally saw it last night.... it was fantastic.... I laughed my ass off.

It was a scathing look at the greed & selfishness of modern American culture, along with the insanity of our political arena & media, and how the public is easily influenced/controlled by those two institutions (politics & media), despite the people working in those fields lacking knowledge/expertise in almost anything.

The performances were top notch.

Asteriods have hit the Earth in the past and are generally considered responsible for killing the dinosaurs. I believe there was also one in Russia in1905.
1908.

And to be technical, the steroid hit is only a theory (though a rather widely accepted theory). There is no crater evidence (theorized that the asteroid “exploded” about 3-6 miles over the surface), and only sparse eye witness accounts, seeing as it happened in Siberia.

I also approved of Cate's girls.
