Don't stick a fork in the ACC yet...

You didn't provide any facts. All of your summary conclusions about playing ranked opponents, etc., don't come close to the facts that would indicate that Clemson had it way easier than had they been in the SEC. But digging into that deep enough to draw meaningful conclusions would take too much time. I think it's obvious, and you don't. So we'll have to leave it at that.

They obviously didn't have way easier compared to Bama based on the facts I just provided. Or based on the CPU SOS that I provided as well.

Yeah, if Clemson had to play Bama, AND LSU, AND UGA, and UF under Urban and Tennessee under Fulmer every year, that's obviously very difficult. But Bama never had to do, and neither did LSU. Hell, in the timeframe were talking about Bama only played UGA twice during the regular season and LSU only played UGA twice during the regular season.

With that said, like I said previously, Clemson did have an easier schedule. But like I said, it wouldn't have mattered with their truly elite teams.

Clemson went 2-2 vs. Alabama in the CFP Era beating the Tide TWICE in the National Championship Game.
Clemson would have been fine in the ACC, the SEC, the NFC or the AFC!

I guess we will see should they join the B1G or SEC.

Let's see what OU fans think about that if they don't stay in the top in the SEC. They should be able to, but we will see.

Now that I think about it some more and yours and other's responses, one other thing that Clemson and FSU are thinking about is that the $50 million difference gets spread out over all their sports. They won't be as dominant in football, but they will have money for all their other sports. That makes more sense.
what are we considering the top now? with so many teams whats the measuring stick for theses bigger conferences? # of wins? CFP? placement in the conference?
like for example LSU last year was only 5th in the conference was ranked top 15 would have missed a 12 team playoff and had 10 wins. does that make them a top team in the SEC?

It's cyclical. Always has been. LSU has 3 NCs in the last 25 years and only Bama can say that. They still control LA recruiting. They will always be good team. Other than that what makes the SEC tough is the cyclical nature of CFB - they have more good teams that can cycle in at any given time.

you basically described every conference but ok

Except CUSA...unless the Miners fell off the cycle when it was their turn came up. I've been waiting for them to cycle to the top. But Christ will probably return before that happens.

Can I mention religion or is it a no no like politics?

Except that the cyclical top SEC teams win the NCs, and in other conferences, they don't. That's why we can talk about LSU as a top team in the SEC ... the have 3 NCs in the last 25 years, and have been more competitive than any team not named Alabama, UGA, or tOSU. Even Auburn has a NC, and beat Bama more than any other team during their run, although they are otherwise as about middle of the road as you can get.

those are 2 different conversations.
top of the conferences cycles applies, as i said, to pretty much every conference. the tops of every conference having some sort of cyclical movement of team has nothing to do with who wins the NC

the cycles dont mean every team is involved. sorry. 2005 was pretty good tho
