If I were the baseball czar, I’d want the mlb format to look like this:

154 games.
3game LWCS*
7game LDS**
7game LCS
7game WS

*all home games at top seed.
**cannot play division rival

Meh. I don't have a problem with the current season or playoff format.

There's really only two main things I'd want to change with MLB if I had supreme power to do so:
1) Hard salary cap. Gone would be the days that the Dodgers have twice the payroll as league average.
2) Completely eliminate the DH for regular season and playoff games. DH is diluted baseball.

WE MUST CHANGE BASEBALL

WE MUST CHANGE BASEBALL
The format we have now has been changed several times, even in your lifetime. Useless reply is useless #statusquowarrior

Feel the same way as you. Luxury tax is BS and never cared for the DH.

However if anything, the DH is here to stay. And it will likely be implemented in the NL.

Yeah, I expect that. Probably within the next 5-10 years.

Hard salary cap, hard salary floor and some actual repercussions for owners who don't give a shit (Bob Nutting). One of baseball's biggest problems is the systemic salary imbalance and owners who take advantage of the system as an excuse to not spend money. It's going to collapse in on itself at some point if it's only the same handful of teams in the LCS/who can regularly keep their best players or add top talent.

DH is not only here to stay but coming to the NL. I'm not a fan of it but accepted it by this point.
