Dumbest reason an adult family member has been mad at you

Not sure I’ve ever had an adult family member mad at me.

Not that I’ve noticed anyway.

When my Grandpa died about ten years ago, a cousin informed me she wanted to buy the house. I told her to get fucked. As our grandma was still driving, taking daily walks and living her life, in her house. She didn’t bother to talk to me for awhile. Which was fine.

Drunk at a campfire last summer, I spit a little when somebody something funny while I was drinking. Some spray got on my aunt, I guess. She chewed my ass about spreading corona, but seemed to get over it pretty quick.

She has a kid with my cousin’s husband from before they got together. She also has a kid with friend’s little brother

So, first cousins are all banging each other and having kids? lol

J/K, that makes sense now.

Women get pissed over the stupidest shit.

A few weeks ago I went to a good friend of mine’s 30th birthday party. My friend’s little brother happens to have the same baby mama as my little cousin’s husband.

Of course little brother and baby mama came to the party. Everyone had a good time. Some how word gets back to my cousin that I was there “partying with her husband’s ex” and she hasn’t said a word to me since.

Always treated her like a little sister, but if she wants to be all pissy because I went to a party for a guy I’ve been friends with since pre k, she can either get over it or not. Didn’t even speak to the husband’s ex beyond “Hey, how’s it going”

Seriously, it seems like unwanted drama.

It's a party and people are there. My oldest has first communion in a few weeks and the celebration dinner will include a bunch of my ex's family so I get to go to a party with a bunch of people I'm planning on not talking to. It happens.

I don't recall anything nearing that kind of drama with me. I did have an incident with a brand new step cousin once though. My first cousin is the same age as my dad and when I was in college he married a woman (nice lady btw-was really glad for him and 20 years later am happy for them). Anyways she had 3 kids my age and me and one of them hit it off pretty good. We were doing dirty Santa at Christmas and we struck up an alliance. The married couples played the game as teams and we decided to do the same. We get down to the nitty-gritty and I end up with a shitty gift. He has the gift he wants but is supposed to steal from me so I can steal from him and he grabs what I want. Double crossing mother fucker says nah brah and taps out. My aunt ends up with what I wanted so she slides it to me later so all is cool but the betrayal burned me for a couple of years. We're cool now but I was really pissed at that.

Most recently, it was because I didn't want my children going to their house for an overnight stay during the peak of the COVID cases in our area, even if it was to let my wife and I have a night "out" (we don't go out). I respected their viewpoints in continually going out to restaurants and hanging out with others without masks/social-distancing that were like-minded, as they obviously felt comfortable in doing so, but I got all sorts of vitriol when I wouldn't let my children to go their house because I didn't feel it was safe for our family.

These were our go-to people if we ever needed anything, such as a babysitter for a date night prior to COVID, but the reaction to my reasoning that I didn't feel it was safe for my family at the time has made us reconsider relying on them in the future.

is this other couple very political in your opinion? If yes, which way do they lean?

Not really a family member but I became pretty good e-friends with this one guy. We knew each other for a really long time and then met up a few times for lunch. Cool guy but I made one joke about him having a “bad hair day” and now the fucker won’t talk to me at all!! Avoids my calls, texts and won’t acknowledge me online anymore.

Fuck him!!!

I wouldn't consider them very political, at least not out in public due to their positions, but the husband is Republican.

thanks

It’s too bad that the relationship turned sour. From their viewpoint, what you are essentially saying is that the way there are treating this virus makes them unsafe parents. That’s a hard one for them to swallow. In fact, I’m not sure thats fixable.

It’s too bad that the whole issue of masks and social distancing was politicized. It really was just an individual choice. Hopefully in time you all can move past it

My teen daughter got mad at me yesterday afternoon because I told her to finish cleaning the kitchen (her baking mess) as soon as she walked in the house with her boyfriend (she was told to do so before she left and she had just dumped all of her dirty dishes in the sink). While she was cleaning the kitchen, I engaged in conversation with her boyfriend about post-high-school plans that resulted in a little unsolicited advice to him - which pissed my daughter off even more.

My teen son is always pissed off at me because he's unemployed and I'm constantly on his ass like a dog on a dog catcher to get a J. O. B.

My wife got mad at me Saturday. We were playing Fallout 76 together. She had to run out to get some buns for dinner and while she was gone someone dropped a nuke on the map at the Prime Fissure site which started the "Scorched Earth" public event. I joined it without her. I guess I was supposed to NOT help everyone else in the server complete the mission and I was NOT allowed to reap the rewards of killing the Scorchbeast Queen without her.

I'd be mad if you made me play fallout 76 too!

You are such a joy to have around. :)

We bought F76 for $15 knowing it was not well-received with a mentality of "screw it, let's give it a try - and if it's garbage, big deal, we spent about the same money as we do for a fast food meal". Turned out to be worth the money for us... It's been pretty much the only game we've played for the past several months.

There's a guy we've gamed with who got F76 when it first came out. He played it for a little while initially and quickly realized it was trash at that time. Fast forward - when he saw my wife and I were on it for several weeks in a row, he joined us to check it out and was pleasantly surprised by how much they improved the game since launch and how much interesting content they added. He's joined us nearly every night over the past couple months.

It's a game my wife and I play cooperatively together. We like teaming up for games like Far Cry & Borderlands and F76 is in a similar vein. F76 isn't void of frustrating bugs or crashes; but for $15 we certainly got our money's worth.

Yea i got it day 1 and hated it havent redownloaded it to play it since, and of course now it is on Game Pass for free and i heard MS wants to make more improvements to it

Got nothing.

My grandma didn't speak to her sister for a couple years because her sister brought a cake to my grandma's work for my grandma's birthday once, though. So I've got it in my blood somewhere

why would she not speak to her? that sounds like a very nice thing to do for someone on their birthday.

Yeah, within the next few weeks they'll be adding a bunch more content to enhance gameplay and replayability. I expect I'll continue playing it regularly for the next couple months. Even if the game ain't spectacular, it's quality time with the wife.
