The steps are:

2. Point out what a terrible job the other OP did on their thread
3. Explain why your thread is superior on all fronts
4. Never concede your thread shouldn't have been made
5. Bitch like hell when the mods merge the threads and call them out by name

Anything less is not having pride in your work.
