Dwayne Haskins Toxicology released.......

Livin the thug life often has consequences. Sean Taylor is another example.

So, four people, two restaurants, a driving range and a hotel all conspired to put drugs into Haskins system.

Don't these civil cases usually come after the criminal cases ??
Who was arrested in all of this ?

No...I don't believe so. I'm trying to think of cases but I can't at the moment. But this is bs and typical for the US these days.

The guy obviously had issues. This case is going to do nothing but have lawyers destroy what little rep he had left

Hard to arrest people for completely made up things that did not actually happen.

Maybe he had issues or maybe he had a dumb moment ... I really didn't read into it, I'd rather just remember him for what I knew before his incident which cost him his life.

Haskins dismantled the Wolverine Defense ... I hated it, but I respected it.

Haskins seem to be a good kid, from what I knew about him, I liked him.

I was sad when I heard he died.

He definitely had maturity issues when he went to the NFL. Think it was one of those issues where most everything came easy to him bc of his talent up until that point. Didn't want to put in the work and was partying way too much on top of that. reports coming from Pittsburgh were that he seemed to have turned over a new leaf, at least with his work ethic.

His surviving spouse is going to have a bit of a problem:

(2) In any civil action, a plaintiff may not recover any damages for loss or injury to his or her person or property if the trier of fact finds that, at the time the plaintiff was injured:
(a) The plaintiff was under the influence of any alcoholic beverage or drug to the extent that the plaintiff’s normal faculties were impaired or the plaintiff had a blood or breath alcohol level of 0.08 percent or higher; and
(b) As a result of the influence of such alcoholic beverage or drug the plaintiff was more than 50 percent at fault for his or her own harm.

In fact, depending on when the lawsuit was filed if he is more than 50% at fault, regardless of his level of intoxication, he’s fucked.

Yeah, in no way are they getting anything from the rental company or the company of the truck that hit him but I guess if they somehow prove someone delibrately gave him something to make him that way without his consent she might have something. (I don't forsee this happening)

And then you have the BAC issue.

Did someone hold him down, stick a funnel down his throat, and pour it in?

Yeah, they'd have to basically prove someone did something to him early on that caused him to lose judgement and then drink too much?

It's a silly suit for sure.

My guess is the limited money he made in his NFL career has ran out or his running out and his family doesn't want to let it go

If he had that much ketamine in his system, that can spike your BAC. Any sort of medications for pain, anxiety, etc. can alter how your body handles alcohol. Not saying that's what happened here, but it can happen.

Either way, it's a sad situation that I wish they would have let go. Unless she had absolutely rock solid evidence this is just awful to rehash.

they don't want to accept that he, in the prime of his youth, passed away way too young because of dumb decisions young people make. People get high on Special K and GHB all the time, on purpose lol. Hope he was high enough to not see what was coming and left instantly. His family and fiancee need help to come to grips with this

Absolutely. It's incredibly sad when this sort of thing happens, but unless something wild comes out, it's another tragic case of a young kid do something incredibly stupid. The only good news is that nobody else was hurt.

Yeah, this was incredibly sad. I know I was a little harsh on him coming out in terms of a draft prospect, but never envisioned this. This sucks and I wish he would have had a chance in Pittsburgh. In terms of raw ability he was way more talented than Pickett, and that's a good run organization.

Yeah you got the better of me in those old debates obviously, but I would've loved to see what Haskins could've been if he would've kept his head on straight. The talent was obviously there, but obviously this is the worst case scenario. By all accounts he was a good kid, just immature and filthy rich, which can be a horrible combination.

Going to Washington was probably the worst possible spot he could have gone to. For one they are a terribly run organization, and two, it was too close to home, which I don't think helped. Too much distraction, with all that money on top of it. I don't think he was as bad as he looked in Washington, it was just a bad fit, given his best attributes. Pittsburgh was the perfect landing spot. He would have had a chance to play there at some point, and they are much better top down as an organization.
