That’s a very good point. There will likely be a large table seating for teams looking to draft QB next year. But, you have to have a seat at the table to have a chance.Along w like 12 other teams w multiple 1st round picks next year.
Beyond that it would suck having 3 first rounders to have to sign and make 5th year decisions on at the same time. That's a lot of cap space to reserve in a single year to unproven talent. It actually does make sense for the Eagles to make this deal this year, never mind what the Saints gave up.
The simple fact is they can "Eagles" could very easily make a move up in next years draft to take a QB if Hurts doesn't play well this year.
If QB is what they prioritize, then I would think on draft day they will trade out of one of their remaining 1sts this year for a 1st next year. 3 1sts next year pretty much guarantees they could get into the top 3 to pick a QB. And as players start to fall there will be teams looking to jump the line this year, like always. That’s a very good point. I don’t hold any super hope this puts the Eagles in position to get one of the top QBs next draft if it goes that way. But, drafting three first rounders can present its own issues down the road, however they use the picks having 2 this year and two best offers the best flexibility.
The Eagles could have gotten Jordan Love for only a 2nd round pick.Unless they use these picks for this years draft

Lions fans are already down on Goff?Right now this is the biggest debate in Detroit. Some fans like me are in favor of them taking Willis at 2 (I kind of want Thibodeaux though). But a lot of fans are in the “We can easily trade up for one of the top 2 QBs next year.” I keep telling them it won’t be so easy but no one wants to listen. Gonna have to outbid a lot of other teams.
Correct. It’s not going to be easy. We talked about that some after this trade on the Eagles board.Right now this is the biggest debate in Detroit. I’m happy the flexibility is there next year no matter how this season plays out, I just think those that think a small amount of improvement from Hurts means we are moving on need to think about it.
The logjam of teams looking for top QBs next year will create a lot of teams that lose out.
I’m so against the Eagles getting any QB this year I’ve really not looked into them, so I can’t say for sure how well I think Malik will do…..but it might be most wise for the Lions to get that QB now. Of course, I wouldn’t cry if my team got Hutchinson.
I’m super intrigued by Hamilton. Agree with hesitation on Safety this high, but this might be one where it ends up making sense.Im assuming Hutchinson goes 1 to Jax. Closer we get to the draft the more I want Thibodeaux (after not wanting him at all) or Willis.
Kyle Hamilton is interesting, because apparently he’s a “unicorn”. But I don’t like the idea of a S at 2. Bad years to not need a LT.
Too expensive for too short of a time. The Eagles could have gotten Jordan Love for only a 2nd round pick.

The guy hasn't proven anything only because he backs up probably the GOAT. Why spend a first round pick on a questionable QB in the coming draft? Love has learned the game behind the best QB in the NFL.Not worth a 2nd. Was a late round 1st who hasn’t proved a thing. He’s closer to being the next Josh Rosen than Brett Favre.

So you evaluated him based on only one game? Love is only 23 and already has two seasons of NFL experience. Some teams have shown interest but the Packers would not trade him for anything less than a 2nd round pick. That would be a steal for a shrewd GM willing to agree to this deal.He looked incapable vs KC. And I don’t think he’s learned anything from Rodgers, who isn’t the mentor type.
Why spend a 1st on rookie QB? Higher upside for one. By now all NFL teams know what Love is. If he was sought after he would be gone by now.
Disagree. I just haven’t seen anything from Love yet to justify the pick or negate it, and I’m not even taking the KC game into account. I think that would be an unfair barometer to measure him on.So you evaluated him based on only one game? Love is only 23 and already has two seasons of NFL experience.
