There were about 30 pallets (many not in the pic) so about 216,000 eggs. At just 1 Costco.
You have to wonder about spoilage management. That should bring prices down considerably.

Costco doesn't have the issue.
A supplier sent us eggs that were one day out of spoilage. We just destroyed it. Got credit for it. Ended up in donations. Bunch of peeps ate a good breakfast.
We hold a bit different standard. We pull products day before expiration and destroy it (our term) some we get credit for most not. Produce is off the hook what is donated. That shit has such a short shelf life. And has to be treated in certain ways for freshness. One thing that is so hard to get is, don't chase bad produce. Get it gone asap. Keeping it out in hopes people will buy while having great stock somewhere else, already going bad, is a loosing strategy. People buy produce several times a week. Fuck 'em twice and the chances of coming back start to diminishI heard they donate tons of food that's near expiration.
Here's a bit of fun food trivia. Only one product has to have an expiration date.I heard they donate tons of food that's near expiration.
