Cheaper to buy them from a farmer. $7 at the farm, $7.99 at the grocery store.

I still get them for $3 dozen from neighbors if their kids are putting in all the work to earn some extra money.

If it's empty nester adults (no pun intended) raising the chickens for hobby and/or their own personal egg use, then they often give them to me for free. I'll get a text that says "Check your mailbox". LOL
