Empty Driveway Thursday

holy shit is baseball sad.

I was being rhetorical in my own way, as this is exactly what I see too. They won’t let evictions and foreclosures start moving, they will continue to pay benefits. Fuckers can eat and survive on the benefits with no rent/mortgage.

This is exactly why some of the things we needed to do compassionately a year ago need to phase out and stop now.

Programs like setting up with landlords who haven’t been able to pay mortgages due to not getting rent. Something like they give renters 60 days to start paying rent in full and they get what’s been missed tacked to the end of the mortgage, as one solution.

After the 60 days they are whole enough to pay it, or the evict the tenants and get something like two months more to start making payments.

This current setup and continuing to support this nonsense is not getting back to normal.

We went to a BWs last week (15 year olds bday dinner pick) and half the menu was out due to not getting supplies. Supplier or transport manpower impacts, I’m sure.

Getting the food also took 3x longer than normal as they were short staffed in the kitchens.

This nonsense isn’t acceptable.
Had very similar experience last night when we went to BW's. Waited over 30 mins to get our food

i'm sure you could squeeze out the needed dollars for a trip
Actually, money is less of a concern than time, I think.

Trips to South Africa, Puerto Rico, Portland, and various long weekend trips kill vacation time.

From entering the place and waiting to be seated in an almost empty restaurant to getting food, eating and walking out was 2.5 hours.

The waitress was awesome and at least set our expectations up front. She told us how they were closed Sunday as they literally had almost nothing to serve.

are we supposed to now what BW stands for?

also, glad someone is thinking about the poor landlords in these trying times. shit, my house has gone up in value over 6 figures in the little time since i've bought it, i'm sure they'll be fine.
Buffalo Wild Wings. They just call it BWs down here now. Not sure if that’s a change nationwide.

I’m not thinking specifically about the poor landlords here, just about the cascading effect I’m seeing and how that’s a place that needs to get addressed to help get everything moving.

You are right….they are not in a bad position. Down here anyway the market is climbing nicely. Or it really could be if there could be more supply on the market. I’ve heard lots about this (Mrs is a Realtor). There is WAY more demand than supply on home buys right now. And it’s exactly the same for rentals. Home prices aren’t flying up too much at this point, oddly, but rent is.

One way or another these landlords will be fine. But, this whole mess needs to be unraveled, and it can start there and be as smooth as possible by having the landlords on the same page.

If not you just take away eviction blocks and they can boot people en masse. How’s that good for some family renting thats trying to get back on their feet?

Sounding it out, yes we call it that as well "BW's" B-Dubs"

@Fish actually complains most when I drive content.

So, why would I help his dead thread?
Oh, so it's a contest for you.

Funny how all us SBers used to enjoy the morning threads. I don't recall competition for numbers of posts, just people talking. Going way back into the early 2000's.

Then it ended up douchebags being douchebags (you're the #1 douchebag, congrats you won at something) and people like hippie quit coming.

You've got your new people to post your faggot memes to, I don't know why you're not happy.

Oh, so it's a contest for you.
Just want to make sure I have this all set...

So, if I post a bunch with Rob and Chicken, you get all mad because I'm talking a lot with Rob and Chicken.

If I don't post a bunch, you get salty and say it's a I see it as a "contest". So, it seems you want me to post more?

Pick a lane, dawg.
