ESPN Lowballs The PAC

Hallmark Channel and lifetime are preparing bids as we speak.
BREAKING NEWS: Sources confirm that Oxygen Network is also preparing a bid

Yeah, this is the PAC's own doing.

USC was already considering leaving the PAC during the Pete Carroll era over how the PAC was doing things and it just got worse.

The PAC is always going to be at a bit of a disadvantage schedule wise because of time differences.

But they exacerbate the problem themselves with shit like this.

This is a game between unbeaten teams and the moron's go with a 7:30 start on a Friday night.

This game shouldn't be being played on Friday night.

But if they have to have it on Friday...how about at 5:30 or 6pm? At least there would likely be more people who watch at least part of the game in other parts of the country. Even out here, with a 7:30 start, there will be plenty of people who won't be awake for the whole thing.

If this conference goes under, it has no one to blame but itself. They've had plenty of warning and opportunities to fix things and they have doubled down on stupid every time.

Oh I can do this!

The B1G invite is the mail and we are going beat Michigan, Ohio State, Wisconsin, Penn State and Wisconsin by double digits and everyone else by at leassssssst three TDs. They should start putting together a conference All Star team just so we have one competitive game a year. Go ahead and send us the conference championship trophy for the next 10 years!

Skoooooooooooooooooooooooooool Ducks!

How did I do?

Pretty clear that ESPN doesn’t believe the conference is going to exist long term

God, we (PAC fans) need some good news.

The more I read and hear, the more I agree with @Wild Turkey in the fact that the conference as a whole won't exist anymore.

Unless something major happens, and happens soon.

Is it a low ball or paying the fair market value for a volatile conference with an uncertain future

Pfff... you left out the part where Oregon then goes to the SEC an dominates that league as well.

Once USC and UCLA move over to the B1G - will any home game there start at 5 or earlier (assuming 8 for EST - prime time) Are you guys okay with that?

In many ways, the two Arizonas would fit better in the Big12 than the new Pac12 anyways. New Big12 won't be elite but it will still be a pretty darn competitive league.

That’s my guess. But I’m not sure the Big 12 is going to get great offers either. Better than this but still not great. Dennis Dodd’s article days the Big 12 thinks they’ll get close to the same $45 mil/school when the -2+4. I don’t see it. I can’t see the new four drawing as many eyeballs as Texas and OU.

Discovery+ is merging with HBOMax just FYI.
Pretty sure they are buying it. Discovery+ is the new streaming juggernaut gobbling up everything.

It's a fact that Discovery+ bought HBOMax and that deal has already gone through.

They are just combining the two into one streaming service.

Imo, the best chance for the PAC is for Oregon and Washington to step up and try to hold the conference together. If the Big 12 really goes after the Arizona schools, Utah and Colorado, that will end the conference.

Problem is that when the LA schools announced they were leaving, the Big 12 started talking about inviting PAC schools while Oregon and Washington (especially Oregon) started acting all offended that the B1G didn't want them.
