…and every part of the today’s cfb landscape, in fact…

…is because Pitt beat WVU in 2007.

It is the pivotal moment of all cfb, and the seminal moment of all modern cfb.

We should start a religion based on this event.

I knew that this was somehow all Pat McAfee's fault. :tsk:

Les Miles would have gone to a Michigan.

Time and time again, the underdog/under-the-radar teams always seemed to fall flat on their faces when it really mattered.

WVU, VA Tech, Oregon, TCU, KSU, OKST, Wisky, etc. all had plenty of chances to get to/win a Nat’l title, but didn’t.

Oh well. I hate Bama and OHST as much as the next fan. But you can’t blame the traditional powers for those teams’ constantly coming up short or just choking.

Oregon at least got to and nearly won so dont lump them in with that group.

Close only counts in horseshoes or hand grenades
would you rather lose 2 national championship games in the last 12 years or have Nebraska 12 year run?

I’d rather have 5 National Championships than ZERO

right deflect the conversation to something else as to not answer the question knowing that im right and so your other comment makes you a liar.

Ok. Both teams have zero championships so it’s equal. I know you don’t understand what that’s like as a Duck fan but Championships ARE what matters. Enjoy those “got close” because that’s all you will ever have

you know 100% there isnt a team that hasnt won a National Championship in the last 20 year that woulndt have rather played for 2 and lost than go 4-8 regularly and lose to Troy and Northern Illinois and

College football didn't start 12 years ago.

That's why USC was chosen and Oregon didn't get a sniff.

That's why Washington, the last Top 20 winningest program not already in the Big 10, SEC, ACC, or Independent, will get the nod over Oregon if the Big 10 or SEC expand further.

You can be sure these media rights networks evaluated and said which is more likely, USC returning to it's glory days or Oregon reverting back to being a bottom feeder?

read the full conversation. the only reason i said 12 years is because thats how long ago Oregon played Auburn. it woulndt have made sense to go back farther for the purpose of this conversation. Im fully aware of Oregons history and Nebraskas but im also aware of more recent records.
and 30, 50, 70, 100 years ago im sure those same people woulndt have guessed that Oregon would have more NC appearances since the year 2000 than Michigan, Notre Dame and Nebraska, or the same amount as Texas and USC yet here we are.

One would think a game of that magnitude would be played on a yearly basis.
Real shame there are spineless cowards on one side of the two who refuses to sign a lifetime contract when the other side is willing. Would be good for the game I bet…:ranger:

Also, it’s called the biggest choke in CFB history for a reason. WVU fans say hello now by putting both hands on their own throats.
Example: “ Oh hello _____ how ya been?”

Some teams just choke.

Bama won the Natty in 2011 and 2012 because multiple teams choked.

In 2011 Oklahoma State, Boise State, Oregon all had their chance and choked to allow Alabama another shot.

In 2012 Kansas State and Oregon choked and Allowed Bama another chance.

Some teams just can’t handle it and choke.

Yet Oregon is NOT tejas or USC. tejas and USC are bluebloods. They are anchors when it comes to negotiating your conference media rights deals.

That's why the SEC poached tejas and the Big 10 poached USC.

You "don't get it" because you don't like it.
