Expedited Passport Turnaround Time?

What is the turnaround time for expedited passports?

I know the official guidelines say 7-9 weeks, but I want to hear from someone who recently went through the process…
 
Anything to get you to pay more, right?

The whole cost for passports is a major scam. US citizens shouldn't have to pay what it costs for passports. A simple $10 fee should be plenty.

True. That being said, I just renewed mine, no expedited, got it back in about a month.
