Fair or Foul: On or Over the Line?

In the infield, a baseball is considered fair or foul depending on where it comes to rest or is first touched by a fielder.
Now let’s take the case of a ball rolling up the third base line. If part of the ball is over the foul line (but isn’t actually touching the line on the ground) when the fielder touches it, would you consider that a fair or foul ball?
I think I know the answer, but I wanna read your takes. I’ll make my argument later in the thread.

wonder if @Winged_Wheel88 is sitting at home smashing lamps stewing over Jim Joyce right now.....

this was more horseshit than the near perfect game call.

No one is answering the question: if the ball is touched by a fielder and part of the ball is over the chalk, but the ball is actually touching foul territory, do you consider that a fair or foul ball?”

its foul. if it in fair territory and hits the line and the fielder picks it up..its foul.

if you smash a ball down the left field line and a cloud of white dust comes up... guess what..... its foul.

shit nevermind. maybe im thinking football

I think it’s fair by OP’s standards. If the ball were to roll in a straight line far enough, it would have clipped third base, which would be a fair ball.

Well that clinches it, it was fair.

I’m not an expert on the obscure rules, so someone can correct me if I’m wrong, but the pitcher would have been better off if the ball made it to the dugout. Would have saved a run for the moment anyways

I don't understand why the goalie did that...
