Most are lame. Some are good. But I do agree that what Ray Stevens did was far more impressive than anything Weird Al did. I think you’d enjoy A Sioux Named Boy though

It's fine in a comedy act. Give me 10 seconds of something funny and I'll laugh. Beyond that..meh.

Homer and Jethro might not have been entirely parody songs, but they made a lot em and they started in the 40’s. Hell, their version of Tennessee Border is more widely known than the song they parodied, and the original Tennessee Border was a big hit at the time.

And also Jethro was a virtuoso on the mandolin
