Feb. 3, 1959: The Day The Music Died

The Beatles and many other British rock artists worshipped Buddy Holly. he accomplished more in just two years than most artists accomplish in a lifetime.
And no one knows how he would have ended up if he lived. SO many people get idolized as great when they die early.

He was so unique man.

He would’ve ended up cool. Cool AF.

But you’re right. James Dean the old guy that’d suck anyone’s dick for the right amount of money, wouldn’t have been an icon.

I'm only 40 and most of today's music is total crap.

Rock gets better as the years go by..........

40......??.....and you listen to shit I listened to 30-50 yrs ago and beyond....?

Sorry, but I rarely like any sings from back then.......but hey,to each their own....

Stating music died in 1959 is utterly ludicrous and Judge Judy's eyeroll is all that needs to be said. If you want to pay homage to some pre-1960's music & musicians, awesome... Go nuts... But music died February 3rd, 1959 only for people who died February 3rd, 1959. Music has never been better for those who have lived beyond that date.
You know... @GUNS didn't coin this term? Just want to make sure...

I feel sorry for my generation that likes the shit disguised as music today.

No reason to feel sorry for me......or anyone else, its a personal choice....
Music from back in the day is dead and gone.....
And that 70s music they call classic rock.......stinks.......:painkiller:

You have no musical taste so why don't you go back to posting photos of half naked women as that is your best contribution to this site.

You can't take the phrase literally. Holly, Valens, and the Bopper were at the height of their popularity in '59. Holly had many hits over a few years; Valens had recent hits Donna and La Bamba and was relatively new to the scene. I was sitting in a barber shop and heard the radio news report. So when all three died suddenly in a plane crash, it was like the music died at that point for fans. Imagine three rock stars passing in one day, today. Quite an impact.

You have no respect for anyone with a fully operating brain. And don't tell me you're even a little intelligent. Plus, your mind and strengnth of character are below the level of a spider monkey.

Never wrote a song in his life. He sucked donkey balls. By far the worst of the Sun Records guys
Elvis was a performer. You gotta loosely label him a musician the same way you would Brittany Spears.
