It makes Tennessee's win over Pittsburgh look pretty weak now.

Honestly I really questioned Pitts ranking. A team like Pitt doesn't lose a first round QB and recover that easily.

I will say this about Pittsburgh, Coach Narduzzi threw the kitchen sink at Tennessee and suffered a lot of injuries. They are a shell of their former team now. To me, that was kind of dumb because the Pitt-Tennessee game was just not that big of a game on their schedule. The ACC Coastal is wide open and if they could have kept their team healthy for that schedule and lost to Tennessee, that would have been a better course of action.

With how bad the ACC Coastal is, I though they could have still won 9 or 10 games. After this loss to Georgia Tech, that looks suspect. Their offense is regressing. They looked good offensively against West Virginia and first half of Tennessee game but have struggled since. Their defense is good. It has been the only defense that gave Tennessee's offense fits (we scored 3 points in the entire second half).

Tennessee also made tons of mistakes @ Pittsburgh. It was our equivalent of the Georgia-Kent State or Georgia-Missouri performance.

Going into Sat., Pitt had won 4 straight and 6 of the last 7 vs GT. The Golden Jackets hadn’t won @ Pitt since 2014.

Georgia Tech used to be a solid football program when I first started watching CFB. Man have they fallen hard. With the programs the ACC has in its conference, they should be a far more solid Football League. I mean there is FSU, Miami, Virginia Tech, Pittsburgh, Georgia Tech, Clemson, Syracuse, and Louisville. All of these programs used to have solid football programs. Even North Carolina, NC State, Boston College, and Virginia have had decent Football programs in the distant past.

My earliest memory of GT football is probably them almost knocking UGA out of a bowl game in 2010. I recall UGA was at home, GT’s starting QB was out, UGA scoring on a fumble return, and GT missing an XP after a TD. I was about 15 then.

I still remember sitting there thinking “Wow, GT should’ve won”. Crazy how time flies I guess.

if you you replace Pickett last year with a slightly above average QB they probably go 9-5, tbh.

so yeah, them being ranked pre-season #17 was comical.

You were 15 in 2010?

JFC I feel old.

George Flippin was a medical doctor and pharmacy owner that went to Nebraska and played football. Missouri refused to play Nebraska because George was black.

Well back when I started watching CFB (I would say the first real year that I 100% watched it was 1999), Georgia Tech and Georgia were pretty even program-wise. That was a fun end of year matchup.

There is no excuse for Pitt losing to this GT team, they should have been able to beat em with their 3rd string, this GT is AWFUL and just fired their coach! No excuse, none. Narduzzi just failed miserably at his job of keeping his team focused.

Honestly, our defensive mastermind of a former HC seems to have been the reason our D was so bad. They did a good job yesterday, or at least better than has done in 3 years. Our O is still bad but on the bright side, we aren’t likely going to face another D like that in the ACC for the rest of the year. I would give another QB a try. Sims just isnt.

Add on the ridiculous decisions our former HC made in game every game and we have a better team than given credit for.

Key also fixed a lot of garbage in ST, too. The backup kicker started and was GREAT.

We aren’t good, not even close. But still 5-6 wins are possible. We can get to that just by having changed coaches, because there is still some talent on the team to be used.

My first GT memory was the 1972 Liberty Bowl vs. Iowa State, and I pulled for the Techsters that night!
It was Johnny Majors' last game as Cyclone coach, as he had accepted the job @ Pitt. The Cyclones scored late to cut the lead to 30-31, went for two and missed.
