Being that Mickey's only been a position coach (mainly WR) and never a coordinator, it would be Dabo-esque (also a WR position coach) to name him permanent HC.

Dabo's the only one I know of that's ever had success doing that. The odds are astronomical.

Yup. It would be a gamble for sure. But, as you've said before, outside of the top 4 or 5 coaches in the game, they are all gambles.
The only thing I know right now is that, regardless of who gets the job, there will be those who love the hire and those who hate it.

I think he wants his 15 million sooner than later and this is the type of thing that tips the scale.

There is zero chance he survives to coach next year and one of the biggest issues has been players and coaches leaving the program so I guess he is wanting to stop the bleeding or he wants out. It's just unsalvagable at this point.
 
Brian Shaw at Stanford. Remember 13 years ago when Harbaugh got there? Won Orange Bowl, destroyed USC and Pete Carroll. Harbough put 55 points on USC and was going for 2 point conversions.... and then Shaw took over and won Rose Bowl and got to second one. Been there 12 years and complete garbage now. Just broke a 10 game Pac 12 losing streak beating crappy Arizona State. After beating Notre Dame too....that tells you how bad Notre Dame is coached. When is Shaw going to get the boot?

Yea I’ll be STUNNED if WVU parts ways with Neal Brown this year. He has that 16mm buyout then they would have to spend a ton more to bring in a new coach and staff… nah, WVU just doesn’t do that.
